I’ve been binge drinking and using drugs 2-4 times a week for about 4 years and have tried to stop but always somehow end up drinking or using again and losing control. I’m now 19 and things have only gotten worse. I’ve been considering rehab as a possible solution, but I don’t think I have any kind of physical dependency and I feel like maybe I’m blowing things out of proportion because there are people with REAL problems. I haven’t used heroin or meth ever, am I being silly?

Only people strong enough to do the work it takes in rehab ever go. The weak ones don’t go and their life continues to spin out of control. So, no you’d be silly and weak not to go to rehab. Good luck to you!! : /

If you think it’s a problem then it is.
Especially considering your age.
Drugs are never good, no matter how little you use them. And alcohol is a drug too. Do you drink to get drunk? Can you stop at one or do you need to keep drinking?
I would say you definitely should seek help with this… Best to nip it in the bud right now while you’re still young. You don’t have to be addicted to something for it to be a problem.
Ask advice from your GP – they will be supportive and lead you in the right direction.

God no! Just go do it, listen and apply what they teach. If you don’t do it now, when you can recognize it, it will only spiral. No one would think bad of you for getting clean. And if they did, they should not be in your life. Good luck to you and be strong.

Absolutely not. If you feel you need help getting over something like this, it is always best to reach out and ask for it before its too late. Its not just about the physical need, but the emotional and psychological need, too.

Rehab would be a good idea for you at this point in your life.
