It depends on the PT school you choose. There are two options, a 3+3 and a BS plus 3.
If you pick the BS plus 3 option, you can major in anything as long as you have the pre req. Most pick bio, exercise science, health sciences, kinesiology, athletic training.
If you pick the 3 plus 3 option, you get a BS in what ever the college that you go to sets up. The BS is not the goal only a means to an end. This options work like this. You go to the school as a freshman, take the required courses and electives as long as you get the grades you get in at the end of the third year. Some schools even other PT seminars to the undergrads. Very basic. They may include medical terminology, patient education, hot topics, professionalism.
I would pick the first choice as it shortens the process and is one less year and one year less of tuition.6 years in my opinion is better than 7.
Below are links to the professional organization, list of schools and the pre reqs.http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?Sect…http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?sect…http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?Sect…
Best wishes email me if you have any further questions.

You can probably just major in pre-PT, that is taking all of the pre-requisites then transfer into a PT program. I don’t believe that you need a degree before transferring into a program.
