A lot depends on which ligament was torn. But much of what they will do will be pain control with certain modalities to decrease pain, maintain or gain range of motion to restore it back to normal, and strengthening the muslce of your leg to compinsate for the torn ligament and prevent nit from happening again.
Good luck and take some pain meds before you go. That will make it more tolerable

Carebear is right. Exercises to increase strength and proprioception (the ability for your knee to react to change in position) will be done.
The first day will mostly consist of taking a history of your problem and taking baseline measurements and deciding where to go from there.
Good luck

I know someone who had the ACL torn in the knee therapy PT was twice weekly for 6-9 months. Grueling but the knee is stronger and fully functional now.
