Most Chiropractors are crooks. Here is the truth about what they do. A chiropractor can do spinal manipulations to relieve stress on spinal nerves caused by things like muscle tension or a slight misalignment of the discs. The manipulation is not a permanent change of anything though, and no – they can’t permanently change the natural shape or curvature of a spine. An orthopedist can evaluate the situation and determine if a scoliosis is actually present, and if a brace would be of help. A brace has to be individually fitted though- it’s not a one size fits all proposition. A chiropractor can be helpful in musculo-skeletal aches and pains, through manipulation and massage- but aside from that it’s all smoke and mirrors. If you have back pain from the misalignment, they can help relieve that. But nothing they do is going to be a permanent fix. Spines don’t work that way. To change a spine takes surgery and braces. Most chiropractors are quacks and want to take a full body X-ray then proceed and having you going to them for a long time. In my opinion they are just as good a back rub. So if you want to become a back rub specialist that gets paid decent money by deceiving people this job is for you.

Go into physical therapy or nursing to start with. Dont bother with Chiropractic “medicine”, chiropractors want to be physical therapists so bad they can taste it. Chiropractors are in the business of staying in business. Thats why, regardless of your problem, a chiropractor tells they that you’ll be in a wheel chair in 10 years if you don’t keep coming to see him. Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants try to work themselves out of a job, though it will never happen.

My sister is a chiropractor and making no money. Now she works as a college professor teaching Biology at a community college. There is such a glut of chiropractors right now. She is in NJ. She has been a chiropractor for over 15 years. I would try physical therapy instead. My daughter has some developmental delays and she had a physical therapist since she was 9 months old (she did not walk until after she was 2 years old). I think that might be a more rewarding career. Personally, my husband and I are chemists in the pharmaceutical industry, and after 13 years he makes over $85,000 (I am a stay at home mom now, I made $60,000 with 8 years experience). We both love(d) our jobs.

They are rewarding jobs but very competitive and programs are hard to get into. You could always look into occupational therapy
