I am currently enrolled in college for Physical Therapy Assisting. Just wondering how far I need to go before someone will actually hire me.

Some Physical Therapy practices use what’s called Physical Therapy Aides. Not to be confused with physical therapy assistants, Physical Therapy Aides are typically unlicensed people with on-the-job training. They can help with preparation of equipment, preparing areas, clerical work, and other important tasks in the office. What unlicensed personnel can do in a physical therapy practice varies from state to state, but an aides participation in actual clinical, hands-on procedures can be very limited.
Aides often make about 1/2 the pay a licensed assistant can make, and they are in higher demand. The PTA degree is well worth it, if you can stick it out.

PT is a really specialized field. I can’t imagine they would hire you to work with patients before your degree is completed.
You might be able to get hired to do menial jobs like cleaning, stocking supplies, or working the desk.

You can volunteer or be an aide
A PTA degree takes 2 years that include full time interships. A PT degree takes 6-7 years.

Yeah.
Just walk into any physical therapist’s office and they’ll let you start pounding on people.
Grow the hell up.
