I want to become an athletic trainer. but I know that they dont get paid very much and the hours are long. I also know that a lot of athletic trainers end up looking for a different job. So I have been looking for a back up and I was wondering if I could get my bachelors degree in athletic training, then continue on to grad school get a degree in physical therapy in case I end up wanting to switch jobs.

Yes you can. Although you might have to take a few courses outside your major in order to complete the PT prerequisites. Also be aware that most master’s degree programs for PT are in the process of converting to the DPT. However, this should not affect your ability to apply to the program.
