If nothing else, it seems to me that the Democrats, instead of looking for ways to cut funding for the troops, would be looking for ways to direct more of those billions towards VA-facilities woes; there are tens of thousands of US troops who need continuous care, (both mental & physical),as well as more hospitals. For God’s sake, some of our troops are having tremendous difficulties returning home after being in that hellhole called Iraq. “Suck it up” you say? Well it might be a little different than when wars meant the use of more conventional weapons. These troops are seeing people cut in half, body parts strewn throughout markets’, or being sucked though buildings or grotesquely burned, not to mention their returning to Walter Reed for ‘rehab’ because of the loss of arms, legs, feet, or having had part of their heads blown off. Not to mention the number of suicides relative to this war. Not to mention troops being asked to pay for ‘uniforms’ or boots that may have blood on them.

Sorry, but it is a known fact that the Republican program dismisses any free health care. The Veterans Administration was one of the first to be hit for budget cuts. My father is a WWII veteran and still alive, in 2002 George Bush signed papers stating that he no longer was to receive any veterans benefits. Harry Truman guaranteed all WWII veterans 100% coverage, it’s on my fathers DD214 on the back of his honorable discharge. George Bush is no patriot of the American people, and he isn’t well liked by our military personnel either…

The govt has always done a poor job of taking care of it’s wounded soldiers. They spend allot of money on equipment and recruitment and they do payout death benefits. They should take excellent care of the men & women wounded in battle.

Did it ever occure to you that the President is not directly responsible for where the money goes?
We live in a democratic nation. He isn’t King, Czar, or Sultan.
The thing would be to find out who is really behind all this and tell them to quit draining the treasury for that new boat, give that money back and give it to our deserving troops.
To blame a political group entirely for something is fruitless because everyone thinks differntly.
It is unfortunate that sacrifices are made in areas where they seemingly shouldn’t be but the money is ’supposed’ to be moving where it will bring health, wealth, and happiness to the nation. It is all expodential.
Seriously if they signed up thinking that they wouldn’t see chaos and a load of bloody body parts what were they thinking? It is war not a picnic in the park.
They are making them pay for their bloody uniforms? I wonder what triggered that policy?
