19 years old. Just had a breast reduction. I have mostly treated depression/anxiety. I also get kidney stones. Have had horrible back pain for 6 years now. I’ve always had a larger chest, but this back pain effects my life to the point where I cant work, drive, go to school. I need to be on narcotics for pain sometimes. Its been a few weeks since the surgery and I am STILL in the same amount of excruciating pain. We never knew if this would solve the problem but we hoped. Doctors have run tests, blood tests, x rays, ultra sounds, massage therapy, chiropractor, physical therapy, NOTHING has shown up, and NOTHING has helped. I have extreme fatigue, I can sleep for 19 to 20 hours a day if allowed. This pain is NOT the same as when I get my kidney stones, it’s totally different and it has taken over my entire life. Does anyone have any clue or idea of what could be the problem? I feel like there is something that the doctors are not seeing. I need to get this taken care of, I HAVE to live. Any ideas or help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

I don’t see MRI’s on here, this is what most to all doctors would run. This will show all muscles and nerves and what your problem is, call your doctor and tell him you want to have MRI’s on your back. If it still shows nothing it may be fibromyalgia or nerve damage. Then the doctor can put you on something so you don’t suffer.

If you are sleeping 19 to 20 hours a day, it is no wonder you have chronic back pain. Your back can not possibly tolerate lying down for that long without hurting, especially the low back. You need to get an Rx for physical therapy, and slowly get yourself stretched out and your muscles working properly again. Your doctor will know when you are recuperated enough from the surgery to start physical therapy. When you have been released from physical therapy, I recommend you work on strenghtening your entire body with a personal trainer who is certified and has many years of experience, so that you can keep your entire body fit. No wonder you are fatigued. You are not getting enough exercise. Everything suffers. It’s key to a healthy back – proper, careful exercise overseen by a professional, and also appropriate stretching also taught to you by a trained person. I had four ruptured discs in my back, and went from 15 years of chronic pain to usually no pain, or manageable pain from learning proper exercise and stretching. Also, I made sure my diet was very good as well. Look for Dr. Sarno’s “Healing Back Pain” book – it’s helped many people with chronic pain. I see he has a DVD out now too. Good luck.

Your are right, they have missed something and have put you through something for no reason at all. The pain in your back is just that, a pain in your back. It is caused by muscles being pinched and once they are released the pain is going to be gone. And getting the muscles released isn’t going to take long at all. Here is how to release the muscles in your back and neck, the neck added because it can have some pain in it as well:
For your neck:
place your hand alongside your head and push your thumb in under your ear and place it on the muscle there. Take your fingers and place them on the back of your neck on the muscles there. Press them together and hold a good amount of pressure on them. Then relax, take a deep breath and exhale. After 30 seconds you should be feeling the muscle going limp under the pressure. Continue to hold until the entire muscle has gone limp, then lean your head forward as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds.
Back:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.
Give them a try and if you have any problems or questions contact me.
I used this on myself after going through 30 years of pt, chiro and even acupuncture. It has been a god send and I have never felt better.
