I’ve been taking engineering classes through-out high school, and i am graduating in May. I am now interested in becoming a physical therapist. But should I have been taking medical courses in high school or can I just take those in college.

No, it is not too late…your admission into the professional phase of a PT program is based on your collegiate undergraduate work. Namely, there are a set of pre-determine pre-requisite courses (usually which includes a year of chem, a year of physics (I’m sure you’ll do fine there), 3 semesters of psych, 3 semesters of bio, stats, calc/trig, plus all your gen eds…this may vary from school to school, but you get the idea. You apply to the program after your junior year (or as you near completion of your BS…but again, it depends on the school) and entrance is highly dependent on your GPA, but you may also be required to submit a writing sample and sit for an interview.
You can get a list of accredited schools (and a link to those schools) by clicking on the education section of:

Good luck!

Trust me honey…college is all about finding your path. Highschool just helps you get there. People change there majors time and time again. I’m in my 2nd year and just decided to change to OT (occupatuional therapy). You haven’t even got to that point. PT is a wonderful profession. Look into it. Many junior colleges offer AA training and so forth. See what course you would need to take and make sure that is a step in the right direction for you.
FYI: PTs are going to be one of the most highly needed professions in the future as the baby boomers get older. So plenty of job security… unlike engineering
