I saw a reference to spinal decompression and had to write. My doctor, Dr. Ron Nusbaum at http://www.backclinicsofcanda.ca has something like a 98% success rate using spinal decompression for those suffering with chronic back pain (herniated discs, sciatica etc.). . When I talk to his other patients in the waiting room I am in awe at the stories I hear about once home bound patients now leading a pain-free life. Even if you don’t live in the Toronto there are a bunch of articles about spinal decompression on his site that can be used as a starting point to learn more about the subject. I really feel for you and hope you find relief soon.

The numbness you talk about makes me feel you have nerve damage or a disk pressing on a nerve…
Sometimes nerves get caught in between bones or disks…
This will not show up automatically on an xray…
You need the kind of xray where they place the contrast dye inside you for this to show up…
Have you had an MRI???
This would be a good step, but I hope first you have a good insurance plan, because more tests will cost more money, and
I never offer advice without asking if you are covered by insurance…
Tests cost a lot of money…
If you are in a lot of pain, try asking your regular doctor for a prescription for Vicoden pills…
They will kill nerve pain, but they only last anywhere between 6 and 8 hours each before they wear off…
So I would at least try that…
It is a prescription medication because it is a narcotic…
It works well for me with my back pain and I already had surgery 4 years ago…
My surgery did not help since the damage to the nerve was already done…
I have gone through cat scans, MRI’s, blood tests, nerve tests, regular xrays, therapy at 2 different therapists, and I have had several series of lumbar shots in my spine to no avail…
I am very afraid I need more surgery, but have been told if I choose that route, I still only have a 50/50 chance for help…
Considering my last back surgery cost about $60,000.00 about
4 years ago, I am afraid what it will cost today…
I would at least advise you to try pain pills with different levels of Vicoden…
My mgs are listed on the bottle as 10/325…
I am getting relief with these pills…
They are also called Hydrocodone as the generic name…
But like I said earlier, they only last 6 to 8 hours each before I need another…
I have also been out of work all this time because I cannot stand too long or sit too long…
I am so sorry for your pain…
Mine is because my sciatic nerve got crushed…
Perhaps yours is the sciatic nerve with your numbness???
Please do try pain pills and therapy before you consider surgery of any kind…
If you have access to a hot tub spa some place, you can try that with the jacuzzi jets of water bubbling up on your body with hot water just over 100 degrees…
It feels very good, but only do it for about 30 minutes at a time so you wont feel faint or pass out…

Try the simple solutions like hot baths. Simple measures often have complicated cures.

Anyone can try and give you medical advice, but you have to find a doctor that is going to help you with the pain. It could be something very serious and taking amateur advice is not wise. CT scans don’t always show everything. You may need to get an MRI, but only a doc can prescribe that to be done.

Hi there !! You can try by lying on the floor flat a litle.
Need to check that you do not have herniated discs that are not causing an indentation on your nerves in your spinal cord, causing numbness and pain. You need to tell your doctor about this. There are a lot of new techniques like spinal decompression.
I suffer from a spinal cord injury and I know this is terrible, I live in pain every moment of my life., and in my condition, doctors say they can not operate me.
You can try getting in a bath tub with epson salt if you do not have high blood presurre, and soak for about 20 min, with really warm water. This will relieve any muscle spasms, as well as detox your body. When you get out of the water wrap your body in a real plush towel, then lie down and cover yourself with a warm blanket. You would be surprised at how the towel can get all stained with toxins. Our skin is the largest organ in our body and we need to detox our skin from time to time .
Wishing you health. Happy holidays
