I was in a motorcycle wreck in August I was driving home from work and a truck the size of a fed ex truck hit me from behind. The man also admitted fault at the scene. I have a lawyer and everything but they wont tell me how much i might get from everything such as pain and suffering and stuff. Heres all the info with some pictures of the road rash I had.
I broke my C-7 vertebra in 2 places, I was care flighted to Parkland hospital in Dallas where i stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, I had severe bone contusions on both knees, I was out of work for 7 weeks, also road rash see pictures below. Lucky though i didnt have to have surgery and Im not sure all of my doctor bills but I have seen a lot of doctors and went to physical therapy for a month. Basically I just want to know at how much i will be looking at from this wreck.

Sometimes bad stuff happens…and then the American Way is to try to make a profit from it. Geez! Get well soon.

when I got minor bone bruising on my right knee from a 15 mph bump from the rear of a pick up truck, I got about $15k. So you might be able to get $100k from them, depending on the max payout of their insurance. If they only have the minimum, then you’ll have to file a lawsuit to get the rest of the money. Since they are at fault, you can just go ahead and get a motorcycle accident lawyer and press charges. milk them for every nickel and dime they’ve got.

It all depends on where you live.
Most places there is no set amount for pain and suffering. The amount is usually decided by either the judge or the jury.
Don’t spend your money until you actually have it.
You should really read and understand the Yahoo Answers Disclaimer whenever asking for legal advice here. Pay particular attention to the last paragraph. Yahoo Answers is in no way a substitute for competent legal advise.
You should really ask your lawyer this question.

get a lawyer and let them fight for you, they will get you more than you can do by yourself. Lawyers are in it for the money so they will settle for a reasonable amount. Chances are this will never go to trial, it would cost the insurance co. more if the did, court cost and settlements. This will be handled out of court, but may take as long as a year to settle. Remember the lawyer will get somewhere around 40% of your settlement plus cost of all paper work.
Been there done that but the lawyer was worth it. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!

I have been there and done that. I had an attorney and while I didn’t have the same injuries that you had, after everything was said and done the attorney actually made more than I did. Check out everyone who sent you anything, as for money, you will not get as much as you think your worth, unless of course you hire a real good legal TEAM, and they will take anywhere from 30-35% of the total settlement, read: medical bills, deductibles, bike replacement, and of course any money they win for your “pain and suffering”. Another trick they use, that is just their fee, the other costs, postage, affidavits, and other expenses are figured separately! So when you add it all up, do not be surprised when the attorney gets a windfall and you get a fraction of the settlement. Like one answer said, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING- that includes legal contracts with a attorney, until you are satisfied everything is on the up and up.
I used one of those “motorcycle” attorneys, and got burned, because like a dumb donkey, I trusted them.
