Ok im 16 and having this horrible pain by my right shoulder blade.Its between my shoulder blade and spine.It feels like someones stabbing me and is worse when i lay down.Also i have a dull pain all up my back into my neck witch is really stiff Like i feel like i have to crack it.I have had a MRI and xray but both are negative.My doc sent me to physical therapy witch seems to be only making it worse..what else could this be..what do i do

It could be “splinting”, if your muscles are in a state of severe spasm. If your spine is out of alignment your muscles are constantly trying to pull your body back into it’s perfect balance. Can you get a massage therapist? I’ve found that P.T. often just wants to exercise the pain out of you. Try the more gentle approach to see if you can get though the worst part. There are Chiropractors too, but most M.D’s hate them because they can actually fix people and medicine is all about money and referrals.

Give the therapy some time. Its going to hurt more at first until you get the muscles stretched and stronger. If you don’t get even slightly better in 3-4 weeks, go see a different doctor and get another opinion.
