I am 19 years old and I have been having this sharp intense pain where my hip and my left leg meet, at least that is what it feels like. When i move it certain ways it is excrutiating and sometimes i have trouble standing up from sitting down, I also have trouble walking.
If my legs are bent, sitting down in a chair and i straighten them, i also feel the same pain, but milder.
I was in a car accident in May of 2008 and I had some issues with my back. I went to physical therapy and my hips were unaligned, i did that for a while and nothing changed, but now suddenly, this pain hit me, what could have happened or what is it? It doesn’t seem like its getting better. People tell me to walk on it, I can sometimes, it seems like it depends on how I stand up from sitting down…I am not sure if I should ride it out for a while longer or just go to a doctor now…

It is definitely worth having your hip X-rayed. If you were involved in an accident it could be the early onset of arthritis.
