I have been having severe pain in my ribs for about a year now. On the left side my ribs poke out terribly and on the right side there is a really loud poping sound when i move a certain way. There hurt ALL the time, sometimes one more than the other. I have been to the doctor about this and she said it could be a calcium build up but she said it couldnt hurt as bad if it were one. I was sent to physical therapy for a month and that was just a waste of money. It didnt help at all. I cant see the doctor right now due to being in the middle of changing insurance. Pain pills dont work anymore, my body has became immuned to them. Im a 15 year ole female, and have missed so much school cause of this. THEY ALWAYS HURT.
Whats wrong with me?
and
How can this be fixed?
Thank you SO much.

You need to see a specialist for your rib problem. It sounds like you don’t have a very good doctor and probably because of the insurance she doesn’t want to send you out to a specialist because she doesn’t get a bonus if she does. And you are so young to be hurting so much and all the time. If the pain pills have stopped working, you need to try something different and get on a higher dose. Women are typically under-treated for their pain issues. But you really need to let your voice be heard when it comes to pain. Tell your doctor that the pain pill you currently take does not work at all for the pain anymore. It’s normal for the body to adjust to one dose, that just means that you go up to the next dose or try something altogether different. What pain med are you taking? Vicodin? Tylenol w/codeine? Percocet? Oxycontin? Morphine? You see there are a lot of choices out there. Don’t give up, no reason at all to be in constant pain. Make sure the next doctor finds out what is the cause of your rib pain.

You may have some bones that are out of joint…
changing insurance is good…this way you can see a new orthopedic about your condition…

im pretty sure its scoliosis. its when ur spine curves and it applies pressure to the ribs, they will make a popping noise and hurt. it can also cause numbing in areas like hands.
