		<description>Volunteering is a good idea...in fact, it&#039;s required by most programs.  
You might be interviewed, you might actually have to provide proof of immunization and/or submit to a drug test. It really depends on the facilities policies.  If you volunteer at a hospital or large health organization, expect there to be a lot of policies in place.  
Go to the APTA website at: www.apta.org so you can at least get an idea of what the field of PT is all about.  
Nearly all of us have been in your shoes and are willing to help out future students.  If you are looking to volunteer in a hospital, you will most likely need to go through their volunteer office. Otherwise, for a small private clinic, I would simply leave a message for the clinic manager inquiring about volunteer opportunities.</description>
