It depends on what you like to do and what are your talents. If you are good at multi-tasking (ie, taking care of several people at once), have a good memory (ie, remembering medications), and work well under pressure, you would probably be happy as a nurse.
If you are someone who likes to be a “problem solver” and “play detective’ (such as figuring out what is the source of one’s impairment and what should be done to fix it), then you would be happy as a physical therapist.
The disadvantage to PT is that it’s a lot longer education than for RN. As an RN, you can begin working in two years…granted, starting salaries are not nearly as high as that for a new graduate PT; however, nursing schools are prevalant enough so that one can be working in two years, but then transition to a BSN or even a master’s degree on a part time basis. By the time RNs have their BSN or masters, or have some significant experience under their belt, their salaries are comparable with a PTs.
So it really depends on what you LIKE to do and what educational resources you have available to you.
They are both excellent careers.

my little sister is a PTA and she wishes that she would have taken occupational therapy and my two dau-in-laws are RN’s and they seem to be happy.
