My older brother slammed his finger in a car door and broke it and had to wear a splint for a while. You would start PT when it was healed by the way.
The doctor recommended PT for my brother and he went once where he squeezed a ball trying to get strength and stuff, but he realized for the price he could do it on his own and get it back to normal.
I’m going to say no, but I’m not sure if you had any other damage. Or you could go the first session, get evaluated and ask what you could do at home since you can’t afford it, or have the time, or what ever the case is.
Pt would be used just to strengthen it and get flexibility back, however, I don’t think you would need the supervision of a PT or PTA for that.
I, on the other hand, am stuck dealing with the price of PT because I dislocated my patella and it’s very weak and prone to dislocating so they know what to do and not to do and are there in case something happens.
Good luck

BTW, I am a former sports chiropractor and am the developer of Handmaster Plus. We have worked with Handmaster Plus in all therapy fields in rehab, injury prevention & performance. Handmaster Plus Soft can be started when cleared by your health care practitioner & when you can move your hand through full ROM’s painfree.
Best,
Terry
