i have achilles tendonitis and i’m going to physical therapy for it but when im walking my achilles get very tight which tightens and makes my calves burn and achillse and it makes it difficult to walk if im walking long enough. also when im just sitting here right now and i extend my foot to its like pointing vertical and then relax it again i get a burning pain in my calves. also if i flex my calves this sensation happens also. if i flex my thighs the burning sensation is in my knees. what could this be from? my physical therapist said i had some scar tissue growing on my achilles also if that helps

i think it is because of the scar tissue and also because it is trying to heal so it is going to be tight because your body is telling it to rest but if you rest it to long then it can tighten up and get worse.

You should see your doctor and ask him to check your back, back injuries can cause simmilar symptoms. My husband injured his back and he was having pain just like yours, he couldn’t walk and sitting was painful too. The doctor said it was an herniated disc, he prescribe some pills and waited for it to heal on it’s own but it took a while.

I have the same problem from years of distance running. Burning calves. I have no idea what causes it. I thought it might be restricted blood flow in the legs, but I need to see a doctor to find out – and you should too.

Have you gotten shoe inserts yet? This will help a lot. Along with buying a shoe that is best for your foot type. I recommend looking at roadrunnersports.com. This is a running shoe site that has all different types of shoes. There is an area where you pick your type of foot and arch and it shows you the best shoes for your foot. They also have good inserts for your foot type, which helps a lot with foot problems. I know b/c I used to have the same type of problems, but since my podiatrist recommended new shoes every 3-4 months and new inserts I have had very few problems. Along with a good diet and good weight.
