My mom is in bad health right now, she has had stroke after stroke. Just to make a long story short, a week ago she had a really bad one. Now she has to have total care 24-7. She can barely feed herself, she told me the other night that she wanted to get right with God. She said she was tired of fighting. I told her it is o.k. and I understand. I was not sure what to say. I can not even imagine what must be going through her mind having to depend on people for your personal needs. Have you ever prayed that God would release your loved one from their pain so they can move to the next life? I feel guilty for feeling this way, but now she is beyond recovery, and she is too far gone for physical therapy. She cannot even sit up on her own. Right side is paralyzed. Is it normal to feel like this?

I have had tendonitis in my wrist for near two years and it gets so frustrating to have it still be painful. It all started when i was obsessively drawing with a pen till my wrist was in so much pain i had to stop. i thought i was building muscle bc it was sore but wow i was really wrong………… i have done physical therapy, and most of the typical stuff and now i want some more ideas???? i do some of the wrist stretches as well and mostly try to stay off of it. i don’t draw anymore and dabble with the guitar which can make my wrist quite angry? i just need some ideas on how to really get this healed. please………
I am 26 yrs old and have been dealing with this for over a year and 1/2. I have been to 3 cardiologists who have confirmed that is not related to my heart. 3 card. and 5 other docs i have seen stated that it could be costochonditis but should have cleared after 6 months by being on roids and anti-inflammation meds. I have had EKGs, xrays, MRIs and stress tests, blood tests, urine tests all have come back negative. I have been through physical therapy as well. I am just 40 lbs overweight is what i am told each time. I have changed my eating habits, excercise by walking more.I am currently taking lyrica, robaxin, savella still feel pain and sometimes have really bad flares up that will take everything out of me.I am at a lost and the pain is taking over my life. I am miserable
Okay, so I’m only 16 years old but I have a recurring pain in my hip/lower back/leg that absolutely will not go away. When I stand, it will start as a dull ache in my hip, and gradually spreads down my leg to about my calves – only not the muscle – and my lower back, and get sharper after a short time. When I walk a very short distance (as short as from one class to another) I’d only take a few steps and it starts up. I can’t bend over, and lying on my stomach or back hurts, which makes sleeping uncomfortable. I also can’t stand up straight, which gets on my nerves the most.
I have experienced this two or three times before, but this time it’s at it’s worst.
Like I said, I’m only 16. I’m not active in any sports or overweight in the slightest (5′7″ and 120 lbs.)
I’ve had x-rays done, but they’re all normal, and my docs don’t seem inclined to really figure out what’s going on. They just told me that if it keeps up, I’ll have to have physical therapy, but I’m scared that if they don’t know exactly what it is it could just get worse.
So yeah. Any ideas?
I have had pain in my left heel for quite a few months now. I don’t believe that it’s plantar fasciitis. Maybe it’s heel spurs or a stress fracture. I’m having a hard time walking. Has anyone ever been treated for something like this? Should I ice it? Is there a good way to wrap it?
Now the obvious answer is going to be “go to the doctor.” However, I’m kind of stuck in the “invisible class,” that is, I am a temp, have no health insurance plan, barely make enough to make ends meet, but don’t qualify for any kind of public help. I make “too much money” for low-income and sliding fee scale clinics. I also somehow owe the IRS a large amount of money in taxes, so paying out of pocket, full-price, for a doctor visit (much less meds, physical therapy, or procedural treatment) is just not in the realm of possibility for me. I need some home remedies until I can land a permanent job (which will hopefully happen sometime this month). Sorry to whine, but I need HELP!
Thanks a lot
I was injured in a car accident and went to a chiropractor for help (for my neck). He manipulated my back at least 17 times 3X a week. My back was not injured in the car accident. Now I am in constant pain in my back and pelvis and on Vicodin. I’m not overweight and take good care of myself. I cry when I wake up in the morning. What did he do to me? I’ve never heard of chiropractor putting someone in so much pain. He used a drop table and I feel he was rough for someone my size. I’ve missed graduations, communions. This is upsetting my whole family, and I’m not old. I feel like I could end up in a wheelchair if this keeps up. I found he has already been disciplined so I know he has hurt other people. Anyone have any ideas? I will be trying physical therapy to repair the damage.
a couple months ago I went to physical therapy for my knees, because they hurt. They hurt in two places, ausgoood slaughter, and the side of my knee. The ausgoood slaughter is fine, but the side of my knee hurts alot whenever i begin to run, whether Im running for exercise, or for a sport, and I dont want to run through pain. The therapist told me to exercise my side hip muscles and stretch the muscle opposite the quad (below the quad). I am also doing ball squats for about 2-3 minutes, and after I finnish that its fairly hard to walk, idk if its because my quads hurt, or the exercise hurt my knee. I REALLY NEED HELP, im going to a sleep away soccer camp in about a month and a half, and I dont want my knees aching the whole time? Please… what should I do???
Hello, all. I really need some help on this one, especially from anyone with expertise. I know I’ve seen chiropractors and such on here before, so I’m counting on you guys. ![]()
My husband has been dealing with serious back pain off-and-on for most of his life. It got a lot better during college, when he was frequently alternating between sitting, walking, standing, and active exercise. However, after college, he got a desk job. He spends a great deal of time seated, with his arms outstretched to work on the computer; he is a graphic designer. After a few months of working there, his back problems started to come back with a vengeance. Around a year ago, I got him going to a chiropractor. It really seemed to be helping a lot. However, after his visit yesterday, he found out that he has run out of insurance-covered visits. He asked how much it would be without the insurance, but it was more than we could afford, even if we cut back to once every two weeks.
We’re considering trying to get him in to see a regular doctor, since that would still be covered by the insurance, but this presents its own set of problems:
1. He works from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mon. – Fri. and he’s low on sick days, so we pretty much have to find somewhere that’s open late or on the weekend.
2. He doesn’t handle pain pills well. It’s not that they make him sick, it’s just that they only seem to work for a rather short period before they lose effectiveness. In addition to being rather hard on one’s liver, this sort of thing could lead to addiction, and makes pain management rather difficult.
3. Surgery would, to my understanding, likely put him out of commission for months, and I don’t believe he would be eligible to continue receiving pay that entire time.
4. Our insurance company puts physical therapy and chiropractic under the same category, if I’m not mistaken, so it probably isn’t an option.
As you can see, we’re in a bind. He’s been searching for other work for the last 2 years, and has not had any luck as of yet. We don’t know what to do. Please help!
I am a 26 y/o Female in average health, no major health problems. About 8 months ago I started having left sided back, flank (between my pelvic bone and ribs) and over to my abdomen near my belly button. Pain comes and goes throughout the day and feels like it is swelling. My back and flank are VERY tender – there is a spot in the flank that if I push on, it feels like I have ‘hit the spot’. Any idea what this could be? I do have a history of back injury in the same area about a year prior but had been treated with physical therapy and had been OK. I have had two CT scans, first without contrast showed nothing, second with contrast showed “minimal diverticular changes” and “slightly prominent mesentric lymph nodes”…had a course of strong antibiotics but this did not effect the pain at all. Lymph nodes worry me. Have a colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I almost wonder if it might be a nerve or muscular problem instead? Anyone have any insight at all on this?
