Broken wrist, had surgery to put a plate in in february, doctor NEVER gave me any instructions on whether or not I could move anything, so I was in a cast until the end of april – now I have atrophied muscles all the way up to shoulder. Was given a page of exercises to do from a PT evaluation last week until insurance decides if they want to pay for it. Meanwhile I am in more and more pain, I cant do these on my own, can barely move one finger, by the time I get to go to the PT it will be horrible! So does anyone think that if I get hypnotized will it help talk my brain out of the pain so I can get the exercises done and recover?
IF ANYONE HAS A ANSWER PLEASE EMAIL IT!
YAHOO ISNT LETTING ME SEE MY ANSWERS AND I DONT KNOW WHY!

my father has severe lower back pain. the doctor suggested Physical therapy 3 times a week for a month at 100 dollars per session.
He has gone to a PT b4 and they just give a pamphlet and make you do it at home mostly. for that $$$ its ridiculous.
What are some exercises he can do for lower back and abdominal strength?
He has a very large belly, and emphysema. It is very difficult for him to stand for long periods of time or even short periods of time without sever lower back pain.
Can you help us save $$$ and suggest some safe exercises?
I’ve been have a lot of pain in my knees and my doctor prescribed physical therapy, will it really help?

what type of physical therapy is best for the relief of arthritis pain?
manual pt, orthopedic pt, sport pt, or trigger point pt?
I had a lower back injury at work after a fall and was sent to pt along with taking ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant. The therapist told me to continue the lower back exercises at home twice a day. But this seems to make my back hurt worse. Prior to my fall, I went to the gym 3x a week, so I am in good shape and used to exercising.
I have a bulging disc in my neck and narrowing of the spine (cervical spinal stenosis) If i over due it with my kids or even holding my 2 year old it will just go out on me to where it hurts so bad to turn it and i can’t even drive. I had an MRI done seen the Orthopedic done physical therapy and it still gets stiff and causes me continuous pain! I take Anti- Inflammatory and muscle relaxer…still not better.
I start physical therapy next week for a pinched nerve and extreme SI joint pain . This is all new for me. Has anyone been through this? What can I expect? What should I wear? Any recommendations for making it more bearable?
Thanks!
81/2 weeks post-surgical biceps tendon repair. Just started physical therapy 1wk ago(2-3 per wk for 4-6 wks) Currently taking lortab10/500: 1 q 4-6hrs prn. #31 per rx. For the last 8wks. However, the new PT regiment is causing sporadic pain increases. I find that if I break one in 1/2 along with a regular dose or between doses it helps enough to deal with, somewhat. Thing is: I don’t want to go through my script too soon,I don’t like taking so much asprin and I’m very reluctant to take anything stronger. My current med doesnt eleviate all the pain, it just enhances my perception of the pain and allows me to continue to work/function. Which is good enough for me, I expect some pain during the healing process. The breakthrough pain is borderline debilitating. What could my options be? I’ve tried 800mg motrin and other analgesics, none work. I would like to educate myself prior to speaking to my (busy) Orthopod.
P.S. This is my first time being a patient. Normally, very healthy and active
