No. It is a CNA or Housekeeping that do “clean up” work. Physical and Occupational therapists work with people who have had muscle or skeletal problems. They do things like teaching them how to walk properly, build muscular strength in both upper and lower body areas. No “dirty work” involved at all and most Community Colleges offer a 2 year program, but be prepared to take a lot of pre-requisites (Anatomy & Physiology, etc).

No, there are different licensure requirements between PTs, ATCs, and PTAs…one cannot fulfill the official role of the other. My daughter is double jointed. She is 15 months and not walking independently. Her ped said if she doesn’t walk by 17 months she will have to go to physical thearpy. Does this happen often? Will it affect her, her whole life? She was born premature weighing 4 pounds. Physically she’s been late with everything, mentally she is sharp, a mind of a 2 or 3 year old. I don’t know what to do, any advice?
