I had achilles tendon surgery 12 weeks ago. After my surgery my doctors office closed suddenly and I have not had any physical therapy. I am basically on my own to get this done.

I am able to walk although it is tight and I have pain. I am afraid that I won’t recover since I haven’t had any PT except what I’ve been doing on my own. Do I still have time to fix this or is it going to give me problems forever?

I’ve rented a dynasplint and a raising board thing to stretch the tendon but I just started using them. Is this all I need to do? I want to be able to run again someday.

Hi. I sustained a transverse fracture of the fifth metatarsal on my left foot and was placed in a cast for almost 6 weeks. It was removed 2 days ago. When I asked my orthopedic doctor if I needed therapy, he advised me to wait a week, do some stretching exercises, try to walk normally, then see him again in a week. Then he’ll see how I’m walking to see if I do need therapy. My foot’s slightly swollen (was advised to place hot compress on it) and there’s a bit of pain on the side of the foot, though I am able to walk with a limp.

Shouldn’t I already BE in therapy? My concern lies in the fact that I will be traveling to another country in 21 days and I need to start getting back in shape. Do I need the referral of my doctor for me to get therapy?

Would appreciate your prompt reply.

Thanks ans best regards.

I will be soon graduating with MBA, and I would like to pursue a career in the medical industry.
My undergrad is in Media Arts/Marketing and Design.
Since I will be having a Masters degree already, would I have to go through a second masters if I consider the PT?
Is there any chance to shorten the study time?
I would have to work during the day and if the schedule would not work, I would also consider PTA, which confuses me with the associate degree.
Obviously I wouldn’t need a AA degree since I will have a masters, is there a way just to learn the profession as a certificate?
Another question also, there are LVN programs, which take a year, would I be able to work as PTA with a LVN?
Sorry for so many questions, but I really need your advice.
P.S. I have worked in wellness industry, I have knowledge about anatomy since I’m also certified massage therapist and personal trainer. I see my future perhaps in helping managing a medical facility and helping people.
Thanks a lot!
