After having surgeries for 2 torn ligaments and muscle in the knee..had to start physical therapy. Its the third day and it feels like a muscle was torn again and hurts badly. Is this normal for it to be this painful or should I check it at the hospital tomorrow?
At first I wanted to be a massage therapist or a chiropractor but changed to Physical therapy. i want to help people, not work in a nursing home, probably children or teenagers maybe adults but not elderly. I want to help people be able to do the things they cant any more. Please help me come up with a good career. Im already in college in my second year so please help!!!
I am planning on starting college next year and just wanted to know if anyone else on here has gone for pre physical therapy or is a physical therapist and could tell me what I can start studying up on to prepare and not be completely lost.
I am thinking about majoring in Physical Therapy because of what I’ve seen in research, it seems like a career for me. Before I really have my mind set on this profession, I want experience. But I want to know if I should have any knowledge before hand? Will I be interviewed? What kind of questions should I expect to be asked? How would a PT like to be approached by someone seeking help regarding experience?
If so, do you think it is better than nursing since there is so much difficulty with the shortages? Is physical therapy going through shortages also?
I have lax ligaments in both of my ankles, and especially the right. I’m going through my second round of physical therapy and was just wondering if anyone out there has had the surgery to tighten them up. I know that the entire recovery process (including therapy) can take several months, but I’m getting fed up with my lack of results from therapy. I play soccer year-round as well as running in the winter. Is the surgery worth it? How long does it take until full activity can be regained without any pain?
I have tried almost everything: Chiropractic, physical therapy, stretching, yoga, massages. These things have helped dull the pain for a short time period (2-3 days) but then they come right back. Anything you have tried that has helped? Thanks.
