Hi. I was just wondering if someone in the physical therapy field could tell me about the things you to on a day to day basis and if you enjoy what you do.
I’m in school for this right now, but as of now I’m just working on the pre prerequisites. And also, I’m sorry if this is too personal, but I was just wondering about the average pay. If you could help me with this I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
I’ve seen other posts which all point to various sources online. I would like responses from actual PTA’s only, in regards to this as a viable career. I’ve done my own research and I’ve seen the salaries posted on these websites, which isn’t always accurate. I’m also curious as to what types of advancement options are available. I am aware of the two bridge programs to become a PT, but are there any other career paths that are possible or that you yourself are pursing? I’m particularly interested in possibly working in a sports rehab clinic, so if anyone has any experience in this area, please give me any and all details that you can. Thank you to all that respond!
What else can a physical therapist do that a PTA can not, besides initial evals and sign off on D/C’s?
What would make someone want to go from PTA to PT?
Hello out there in yahoo answers land
This question goes out to any of the Physical Therapist Assistants on here.
I am really interested in this career, and have done tons of research about it but would love to hear some feedback about the job from people who have done it first hand.
Do physical therapist assistants do A LOT of wound drainage or come in contact with infectious material a lot? How many times a week/day/month do they deal with infectious material? Or is it uncommon for physical therapist assistants to come into contact with infectious material?
are they allowed to bill say if they do an exercise that is supervised by the PTA?

Please describe your workplace, pay, what part of the country, etc. Overall how do you like your job? I was a PT tech in a small clinic, and my boss was great- he really inspired me to pursue this field, and gave me a sort of passion for it. I just don’t want o be diappointed, so lets hear it- Rant away if you must- I truly understand, but also tell of good things please. Also, where di dyou go to school, and how hard was it to get into the program?
I need help to determine if this is the right career for me…Do you like your jobs? Is it exciting or does it become mundane after a while? What age groups do you primarily work with? What is your hourly wage? Do you work in a hospital or clinic? Do you wish you became a straight OT or PT instead?
