I’m A Lady 59 Yrs Old And Have Been Having Chronic Pain In My Lower Back & Left Hip For Many Yrs Now. I Can’t?

seem to find out what is causing this. I have had an ex-ray on my hip and nothing, even no arthtitis,I had a cat scan done on my abdomen because the pain also centers on the lower part of my abdomen. I had a hystrectomy when I was 35. So a few weks ago I had a MRI done which showed degenerative disk but not enough to have the pain I have .So I;m nowhere. I suffer from my hip at night, I can no stand or sit for any lenghth of time .I’ve taken pills for pain , depression. I’ve been to a chiropractor who helped many years ago but deosn’t anymore. They say Physical therapy but i walk 20 min everyday and it just brings it on more. anyadvice for LOST IN PAIN

College Soccer Player With Groin Pain Over A Year Now, Been From Doctor To Doctor ,is It Sports Hernia?

My name is Taylor and im a college soccer player and i’ve been hurt with a groin problem since November 4th 2007. Recently ive been assigned by a doctor to go to physical therapy about a groin issue which no doctor can really find, ive been through 2 mri’s, ct, and xray. But with all exams negative and me sitting out of soccer for over a year i’ve researched over and over on the internet and ive done some self evaluating and seemed to locate the pain in my left adductor with pain in left testicle and left lower adomenal/scrotum. The pain all started when i was running hills and overexerted myself and ended up vomiting. The next day i had significant pain and could hardly sleep at nights cause of the dull aching pain.No doctor or surgeon seems to really listen to me really about what i have to say which is understandable after the extensive years of school they’ve been through. Once the injury happened i went to my school clinic and they immediately labeled me as having a sports hernia and sent me to surgeon and such, surgeons would just do the cough method on me and say i just have a strained groin and give it time. I believed them and gave it time and after about 7 straight months of resting just a “strained abdomimen” and still feeling the same pain while coughing, and sudden movements actually probably even worse since my groin seemed to be tighter because i hadn’t exercised, (besides the bike or olypitcal at low speed to stay in somewhat decent shape.)I decided to just start exercising running playing soccer every now and then, and i could feel my groin, the pain was there but once it got loose it felt okay but mid way through it’d start to get bad, especially after and was sensitive and sore for a couple days, but since the numberous doctors and surgeons turned my away i didn’t have much to lose. I eventually stopped cause i couldn’t take the aching pain,however it still has never went away even when im not exercising for an exenstive period of time.Anyhow i was assigned 4 weeks of therapy 3 days a week and i was told if my groin problem didn’t get any better from physical therapy (which it hasn’t, and im in my last week of therapy) then they are going to perform surgery where they are going to go in and just search for the problem and hope they find it and can fix it supposebly. Im a big sports fan so i’ve known about you from hearing about athletes needing sports hernia surgery. From what i noticed not many doctors believe in a sports hernia so they don’t even really give it any chance. Anyhow i thought i would send you an email and see what you had to say about it, it’s probably hard to make evaluations over the internet so i understand,sorry this is all crammed together and thank you for time, i just am interested in what you think about the situation.Thank you again.

I Have (finally) Been Diagnosed With Crps And Am Looking For Advice On Safe, Effective Ways Of Exercising?

I have CRPS which causes severe pain in my right lower leg. I have mostly lost use of my right foot. I do physical therapy exercises, however I’m looking for exercises I can do to help me lose weight as the decreased mobility has caused me to gain. I do a lot of walking still, however I need something very low impact that will give me results. Any advice would be much appreciated.

What To Do: I Have Very Bad Lower Back And Leg Pain And Have Been Given 4 Different Answers!!! What Could It B?

ok so i asked a question on here about 2 weeks ago about my lower back pain and a few of the answers were very helpfull well now im stuck in a thought: i have been given 4 different answers
1. I was told it was a compression fracture
2. I was told that it was a compression of the L1
3. I was told it was the nerved being compressed by a “peek-a-boo disk”
4. i am now being told it is just really bad muscle spasms
now this is all coming from 1 doctor as to wich why i am now stuck in thought today upon my visit with her she told me quite frankly ” i dont have magical powers, i cant make you better” and while telling her about the pain and how it effects on on what i do on a daily basis she says “oh just move around that will get you going, and make you better” i was sent to physical therapy by another doctor the one who told me it was possible nerve compression. and when i told that to the doctor i saw today again “there just physical therapists, they cant tell you what the pain is coming from”….. so after not being satisfied with seeing her she finally refered me to a back specialist whom of which i am hoping to recieve accurate results from i am a 24 year old woman who has gone from no back pain a day in my life to now have non stop back pain that radiates up and down my spine and into my left leg. (and because i could not pin point one specific area of the leg she said she was 100%sure that there was nothing other then back spasms) so if any of you can offer advice i am in great need of something any thing usefull that could better help me get to the bottom of this is greatly appreciated

What Is The Price To Put On A Body That Has Been Injured In A Car Accident?

I am a middle age woman, was in an accident last year and absolutely can not even do the things I use to do. I can’t even go shopping for 45 minutes without being in pain. Yes we have gone to a lawyer, and I was offered one settlement, told the lawyer to tell them NO. Now I have went back to the doctor and my back is messed up either to the point where physical therapy is my best and temporary means and the worst case scenerio is back surgery which I do not want at all. How do you put a price on the suffering to make a settlement?

What Have You Been Prescribed For Sciatica Caused By A Bulging Disc?

I’m talking meds AND most importantly, ways to fix the problem altogether.
My doctor prescribed Diclofenac, Darvocet and Skelaxin as well as physical therapy to begin with. The physical therapy seemed to do wonders, however, after I stopped going the pain became even worse than before. I am now on Tramadol and Tylenol 3 and I’m wondering what to do next. The doctor just seems to think that I shouldn’t work as much as I do, but I have to. I have bills to pay!!!
So, what do doctors normally do (cause I think mine is a kook!) and what has worked for you in the past?

I Haven’t Been Doing Physical Therapy For Torn Acl?

I tore my ACL about a year ago.. I got the surgery about 2 months after injuring it and started physical therapy.. I only stuck with it for like 2 months and since then I haven’t really been exercising it at all..I stopped going to physical therapy because I couldn’t handle it anymore for personal reasons… [not trying to make excuses, but I had a lot of personal problems in my life and mental state and I couldn't handle being around people] I know I’m stupid… but now it’s a year later and my knee is weak and I can barely run.. sometimes it feels stronger than other times….I can walk fine but running and shifting my weight in certain ways feels dangerous because it feels like it’s going to tear again..
So my question is .. even though I haven’t been exercising my knee is it possible I can still rehab it back to relatively normal again? or is it too late? It kinda sucks to think I might never be able to run properly again in my life…and I will just die if it tears again and I have to go through surgery again!

I Have Been Assigned Physical Therapy Exercises For A Knee Injury, Can Someone Help Me Understand Them?

Injury: Left knee, I have a completely torn ACL, partially torn MCL, bone bruise and am told that my bruised lateral meniscus.
Unfortunately, my Dr. got annoyed when I ask detailed questions and his male nurse goes into attack mode in front of other patients, PT can’t get me in for 3 weeks, so here I am.
1. Weight Bearing: When I am told to bear weight on my knee, does this mean my full body weight or the weight of my leg or?
2. Supported Knee Bends: With or without the hinged brace? My knee is so swollen again that the brace inhibits some motion, but I don’t know if I should do this without the protection of the brace?
3. Pain: I already hurt myself the first time I did these exercises and am just trying to understand what’s normal pain and what’s “I’m causing more damage pain.” The pain at my knee cap and MCL are there and I mentally prepared myself for it, but the pain at the lateral meniscus is excruciating. I am told this is only a bruise, but it’s popping and rolling to the left over something. When I did these deep knee bends at 14 days, my knee got so loose that any lateral movement (getting out of bed) caused it to roll and pop to the left and then it comes back – and this is with the hinged brace on tight. The next day the knee calf and foot swelled up to the point the bottom of my foot cracked. I can completely straighen it and as long as it’s locked, I can stop the rolling/popping. What can I do, when doing knee bends to protect my meniscus and stop the rolling/grinding/popping? I have to re-establish range of motion and I think he said I was only at about 30 degrees and he wants me full range, foot to my rear in 6 weeks. I really need help with this one.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If Im Having Chronic Shoulder Blade Pain And Its Been Going On Quite Some Time Now?

The pain is located in the left scapula and upper thoraic spine, do you think acupuncture would help? Because Physical therapy didnt help me at all, please help.
