So im really confused as to what i want to study. Right now im in my first year of college just doing general education, i first wanted to be a computer science major but now am having second thoughts since im not that into programming anymore. Im considering being a physical therapist. So my question is, what are the kinds of things a physical therapists does and the types of jobs i could get? How long would i be in school?

I am in such pain from a TKR, its been almost 6 weeks. My Doctors tell me it will go away and have conservatively presecribed 5 milligrams of Percoset 2 times a day and Alleive 4 tablets every 4 hours. The Doctors tell me that the underlying tissue has been cut and put back in place and it will take some time. I think the time should have shown some releif (6 weeks). The Doctors are very much against giving narcotic pain medication in fear of addiction. I understand their position but I feel the need for pain medication just to get up from the chair. Physical Therapy is grueling. I feel that I should not have gone through with the operation and would do anything to have my pre operation pain and old knee back. Sometimes I think the Doctors are minimizing or thinking Im boasting the pain level. The implant is fine according to x-rays, there is no infection, my range of motion is about 98 degrees and physical therapy seems to be going well. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE SHARE SOME INSIGHT????
I really want to become a phyiscal therapist when I get out of school but I do not have much time on the internet enough to really do research on it.

Do physical therapist who have their own practice make six figure income? I know that if they work for someone, it will probably be around $70k to $80k a year but is the income increased by opening their own practice?
I had ankle surgery in may and have been in a cast for 6 weeks and a walking boot for another 6. i am in my second week of physical therapy. today i did mini-squats and step ups and right now i am having pain in my knee. is this normal for right now?

I was just wandering……if i could got to college and work my way….up to being a physicans assitant or a physical therapist….and continue to further my college education to be a Medical Doctor (psychiatrist)…..if so how long would it take and what kind of money would I be making…
I’ve been binge drinking and using drugs 2-4 times a week for about 4 years and have tried to stop but always somehow end up drinking or using again and losing control. I’m now 19 and things have only gotten worse. I’ve been considering rehab as a possible solution, but I don’t think I have any kind of physical dependency and I feel like maybe I’m blowing things out of proportion because there are people with REAL problems. I haven’t used heroin or meth ever, am I being silly?

I graduate from college in April with a biology degree. I want to work a year before going back to grad school for physical therapy. What kind of job can I get in physical therapy without being a certified Physical Therapy Assistant? What are some good places to look?
