This is my theory. My mom goes to these physical therapy sessions for her arm because she says there’s a lot of pain in it. The problem is these physical therapy sessions are like 100 dollars our of our pocket each time. Shes been there like 6 times and shes got a shot, but nothing works. She uses very hot water all the time. Washing dishes, bathing, everything. She uses STEAMING hot water. Every time I touch water that hot it shocks me.
So I’m wondering if using all that hot water is causing her nerves in her arm to cause her pain?
By the way, shes just too stubborn to try not using hot water. I know, its annoying.

Way back in Nov. I ended up in the ER from pain in my back and shoulder. I couldn’t even lift my arm. It had started weeks before, but had progressed to the point that I oculdn’t move. There is a section of skin over my spine that I cannot feel. THe pain often goes down my arm into my wrist. THe back and neck pain is severe, and the shoulder pain is unbearable. Our ER is terrible, and they didn’t XRay, or even examine me in any way they just gave me muscle relaxers and told me to call my Dr. Well, I then went to an Orthopedic Dr. He did XRays & said I had a problem in my neck & shoulder, & should go to Physical Therapy & have an MRI–didn’t say what the problem was. I went to him several times since the MRI & I have had a Cortisone shot in my shoulder, & I was going to the PT twice a week for several months. I’ve had time off work to rest, so I don’t think it is a pulled muscle plus it has affected so many parts of my body. Any ideas of what it could be or what I should do next?
I had nothing in my blood test, my knees have hurt for almost three months now, like they’ve been sore. My ankles crack and feel really weak and my feet are hot and “feel” swollen. What should I do? Where should I go? I am in physical therapy for my knees but it doesn’t seem to be going away.
I have been smoking for 30 years, but about 2 years ago I began to have chronic daily headaches. I have been through CAT scans, MRI’s, physical therapy, pain management, etc., but nothing has stopped the headaches. Just wondering if smoking may be causing them.
I am an over the road truck driver who injured my back in Sept og 2006.I fell and recieved a compression fracture in my back.I have had all the regular test they do.I have also seen 2 nuerologists.Their comp doctor said I am temporarilly disabled and mine said my compression fracture has healed and also their doctor said I had 2 herniated discs.I am going to physical therapy and it is causing me to hurt more.My family doctor got tot see my c/t scan which the other didn’t and said it by no means look normal.I hurt everyday, with leg pain and buttocks pain along with back pain and numbness.I would like to know if this type of injury makes some people disabled and they can’t return to work, which would hurt me deeply.I love what I do and not to be able to travel the way I did would hurt me in a very bad way
I have been diagnosed with a bulging disc and have had flareups in the past but have always been able to walk and be mobile even with the pain. I have done Physical Therapy and have not had any problems for about 10 months. I bent over to pick up a sock off the floor and the pain brought me to my knees. I ended up on the floor with excruciating pain. It was so severe, I could not move any part of my body without severe pain. I literally could not get up off the floor because the pain was so severe. I crawled to my bed and with my husbands help got in the bed after being on the floor after 4 hours. I was barely able to walk the next day but after being on a steroid for 5 days I am doing much better. I still have pain in my hips and down my legs but my back seems fine. Is this the symptoms of a bulging disc? I have had these problems in the past but never this severe.
Severe Joint pain and stiffness . . . what is the cause?
HI there,
I am a 27 year old woman with the following history:
car accident with severe back sprain/strain in ‘05, with 9 month of physical therapy
severe pain in butt and back of legs/sciatica ‘07. Pain increased, then began to feel numbness in legs, could barely walk in the morning. MRI came back clean, but Doc thought perhaps I had a disc that only bulged while sitting.
The last year or so, I’ve been experiencing severe joint stiffness and joint pain. Always incredibly stiff and painful in the morning ( i basically walk with a waddle). Hips ache and are in pain all morning long while in bed, hips stiff and hurt all day. Pretty severe joint stiffness in elbows too.
Your thoughts? All reltated to old car accident? Or, is it something else?
I am receiving physical therapy for weak abdominal muscles, which causes pain to run down my right leg and also my right hip is higher than my left.
The past two times my physical therapist was pushing into my muscle in my upper right abdominal which felt like it caused my to have more frequent urges to have a bowel movement and also felt like I was sore or had cramping I all over my abdomen, but mostly in the lower area. Is this normal? Has this ever happened to anyone?
I’m 27, and have had two kids via c-section!
I’m a 16 year old female and I hurt my shoulder playing softball. I had a physical therapy appointment yesterday. At my appointment they did ultrasound, and put Electra pads on my shoulder. Then today my shoulder is hurting me really bad to where my whole arm has throbbing pain. It even hurts to move my arm. Could physical therapy cause more pain than what you started with? Please help.
I had a lower back injury at work after a fall and was sent to pt along with taking ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant. The therapist told me to continue the lower back exercises at home twice a day. But this seems to make my back hurt worse. Prior to my fall, I went to the gym 3x a week, so I am in good shape and used to exercising.
