What Are Some Causes Of Lower Back Pain/cramping Besides Bladder Infection?

I am currently 34 weeks and on Thursday I went into my doctor’s office because I was experiencing lower back cramping. It was not severe, but I had never had it before so I thought it best to get checked out. They tentatively diagnosed me with a bladder infection at that time, and said that was the cause of the cramping, but they said they needed to send my urine for testing and would be able to confirm the results at my appointment I had today. Well the test for the infection came back negative, so now I am back to not knowing the reasons for these pains and it makes me nervous. When I got checked out last week, baby was fine and I wasn’t contracting, so I’m not really worried about pre-term labor at this point, but I know there are other potentially serious things, like kidney stones, that can cause lower back pain…but my doctor did not seem concerned and didn’t look any further into the issue other than to suggest physical therapy for the discomfort, as he said that one of the most common complaints late in pregnancy is lower back pain…
So does anyone know of any other causes for this kind of mild, crampy pain? What needs to happen before I go back to the doctor and ask them to please determine the cause officially?

I Have A Serious Disease That Causes Me To Need Narcotic Pain Killers Every Day. Do You Think I Am An Addict?

I have been on heavy narcotics for the past 10 years because of a painful bone disease and neurological degeneration. I have avascular necrosis from having to take large amounts of solu medrol a steroid after a serious head injury. This caused the blood flow to my knees, hip and ankle joints to stop and the bones to die, My knees no longer bend at all any more. Because of that I walk with my hips and my back has been deformed into a major sway back causing pressure on my discs and nerves causing neuropathy in my right knee, leg and foot. It feels like there is barbed wire wrapped around my knee and ankle and like my foot is being tortured by electric shocks. Now I have a pinched nerve in my left arm causing pain in my left shoulder, upper arm, elbow and wrist. I am now confined to a wheelchair or electric scooter. I am not a cry baby and have done everything, steroid injections, physical therapy, surgery, everything any doctor has ever asked me to do. The doctors all admit the pain must be severe but if someone has never had to depend on morphine, methadone or hydrocodone to get though the day they have no clue what what I am living with. I have a pain specialist and have never had to ask for more then I am allowed a month, gone to the ER for extra, seen more then one doctor at a time to get my medicine but I still get treated like a criminal. Because I have weak legs I fell and knocked myself out. My husband called the ambulance and at the hospital they treated me like an overdose patient even after they found no excess of medication in my blood and counted all my pills and found I was to the day with my medication. I am not am addict. I am dependent on the narcotics for any quality of life but without them I would be bedridden and most likely suicidal. I just want people to understand. Even doctors and nurses. I am not getting stoned or high. I am not pain free nor do I expect to be.I do not drive under the influence. I just want some quality of life. Invent something that removes pain other then a narcotic and I will take it gladly.

What Causes This Leg Pain?

I have had localized pain in my left leg for 2.5 years. When it started, I was very athletic, but the pain became such an inhibitor that I am now 30# overweight.
The pain is an omnipresent dull ache, but if pressure is applied to the site, the pain radiates outward to the knee and the hip and becomes a stabbing pain.
I’ve been to an orthopaedist. I’ve been to a neurologist. I’ve been to a chiropractor and I’ve been to physical therapy. Nobody has diagnosed the problem, and nothing has helped. I’ve had ultrasounds, x-rays, MRIs and other nerve tests. Everything is normal.
At first, one might conclude that it is referred pain from the lumbar, however, how does this address the fact that when direct pressure is applied to the site, the pain changes from localized, dull ache to radiating and stabbing?
My question for the group is, What is the cause of this pain? I would really like your help, because I think it’s time to go back to the doctor, but I want to make sure I go to the right kind of doctor.
Thanks!

What Causes Artritis In Your Lower Back….could It Be An Auto Accident Or Should I Get A 2nd Opinion?

Should I get a 2nd opinion on my back problem?
I was rear-ended first of August by someone exceeding the speed limit by 3 times. I’ve had a lot of back pain since then. I have went to 8 weeks of physical therapy which didn’t help any. I have been on pain meds & anti-inflamatory meds. My doctor had me go for an MRI. They called with results yesterday & said it showed up with mild arthritis and inflamation. I am only 27 years old, I have never had any back pain before now. Does this sound like something that could be caused from an accident and would these problems make my back hurt so much sometimes it keeps me in bed & keeps me from doing activities such as riding my bike, bowling, bending over, lifting heavy things, etc.? Should I get a 2nd opinion? Thanks.

I’m Trying To Lose Weight Because I Have Sciatica And I Know That Weight Is One Of The Causes….?

However, I need to know what some good exercises are that will not aggravate my pain. It’s from a bulging disc. I recently just stopped going to physical therapy as the pain had significantly subsided and I started going to the gym. Now, the pain is back and it is worse than ever. Any suggestions?
