I’m Looking For A Good Physical Therapist Or Rehab Center In Evanston/skokie Area. Any Recommendations?

My doctor recommends physical therapy for me — left hip replaced over a year ago and now having difficulties with right knee as well but not ready for surgery yet. (The docs say yes, I say no, not yet). I’ve fallen a couple of times and need help with strengthening and balance so I don’t fall again. There are so many choices out there. Any personal recommendations?

Is It Against The Law To Take Someone Out Of A Rehab Center? (not Drug Rehab But Physical Rehab)?

Yes, if it’s against the patient’s wishes. If the patient receiving the physical therapy is the one who wants to be removed, then he or she can. Patient’s have the right to refuse ANY medical treatment, at any time, no matter what the condition. But why do you want to take someone out of rehab? Rehab (physical therapy) is usually extremely beneficial for the patient. If you just don’t like the center or think that the people who operate it are incompetent, then I would seriously suggest seeking another facility that you like, but to discontinue PT when it’s necessary can be very detrimental to the person receiving it.
