I was injured in car accidents. In one accident I think I was knocked out, and began to vomit profusely. I had to be observed. I don’t even remember my head hitting the dash, as was evidenced by the red mark on my face. Now years later the injuries can be seen, so far they can only see 2 degenerated discs, I have found that osteo arthritis can take at least 10 years to develop, I have also been told I have arthritis, scar tissue, and at one time been told I can’t exercise because it could flare up my muscles; I suspect that the discs and scar tissues are flaring up the muscles, nerves, ligaments, tendons. The pain is up and down my spine, neck vertebrae, and causes headaches. I am being referred to physical therapy and pain management clinic and having a follow up with my doctor.
Those times when I exercise these days, it seems to make it worse, and so does the weather. But there were times I exercised in certain periods over the years and felt fairly good….
I have had lower back and leg pain for about two years. After the first bout I received a series of steroid shots and physical therapy. The first MRI showed L5-S1 tear/ facet arthropy/ moderate spinal stenosis. After the shots and therapy my pain subsided for the most part except for a constant nagging ache when I walk. Currently I am having the most intense pain starting on the right side of my lower back radiating down to my right knee. The pain is random, but when it comes it almost drops me, leaving me exhausted. Any ideas?
I’m studying physiotherapy and I’m doing a presentation on patient motivation and I’m just looking for a few people to tell me what helped them through their rehab and what helped them with their motivation. If you can let me know what was wrong with you as well that would be great. What I’m looking for is the stuff that kept you going, what you were working towards and anything your rehab professionals did that you thought helped motivate you. Thanks!
degenerative disc disease with nerve pain down both her legs. tried everything so far – shots, acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractor, pain meds, etc. she is not a candidate for surgery because of her age. i hate to see her in so much pain and heard from a few people about this patch. i also heard of a morphine thing surgically inserted into the spine. so confused ….. anyone have any thoughts on this ???
I went today to get evaluated to begin going there for my shoulder that has been in great pain since last winter & I just found it really funny! I realize it’s because people are in pain & can’t get around to good BUT it’s just funny!!
I’m 24 weeks pregnant with scoliosis, sciatic nerve damage, and an autoimmune disorder that effects my joints. My midwife referred me to physical therapy but I’m a little scared. Today is my first appointment and I’m a little nervous about what all she’ll make me do and how much pain I’ll be in afterwards.
Have Ever Broken A Bone? I Have Two. I Need To Know About Physical Therapy And The Healing Process.?
Dec 23
I fell down from skating on Aug 2nd(its not funny) and I broke a bone in my elbow and a bone in my hand, the scaphoid. I don’t have insurance and the clinic I go to re-casted me last week and said I have one more month left. But they don’t offer physical therapy The nurse who wrapped me said that the doctor wants me to start moving my fingers and extending my arm but it still hurts and I can’t stretch it out. I’ve been trying to find books and websites that would offer me some info but I’ve been out of luck. So I guess I want to know if you have ever broken a bone
1. How long did it take to get healed
2. Was it the same as before once it healed
3. Did you do physical therapy
4. If you did physical therapy, What type of exercises did you do?
I just need some advice. Thank you.
I’ve had left shoulder pain for several months, and finally asked one of the orthopedic surgeons that works in my office if she could take a look at it. Her perception is that is a labral tear. I’ve been exercising and stretching on a regular basis for about 4 weeks and haven’t gotten worse, but not necessarily better either. I’m very careful with exercises and my biggest emphasis is technique and not overdoing load (weight).
