I was diagnosed with flat feet (and I think short tendons in my leg) when I was 9 (I’m 17 now). The treatment was custom orthotic insoles that I’ve worn ever since and physical therapy. The only problem is, I really dislike the guy that I have to see to get new insoles because he disregards any questions I have or anything I say and has never explained why I have insoles, or what the problem is, so I wait until my insoles are useless and worn out to get new ones.
Now I’ve stopped wearing them because my old ones wore out, and all the pain has come back even worse then before. Every morning my feet cramp up, I can’t walk for more then 15/20 minutes without pain, my knees have shooting pains when I walk and if when I get up from sitting down my ankles really hurt and are stiff. Is there any way I can get rid of this pain without going to see the orthopedic doctor?

Well, I’ve been going to the gym for about 5 months now doing strictly cardio. I do about 3 miles 4 days a week. EVERY time I go I get severe pain in my calves and feet. Takes about 20 minutes of walking for it to kick in, if I jog it starts immediately. This is killing me because I’m dying to lose some weight but I just can’t push myself hard enough because of the pain I’m getting.
My primary care physician couldn’t figure it out, sent me to a rhuematologist, I had MRIs done because I have a straight lumbar spine so she thought I had a pinched nerve, showed nothing, now the rheumatologist can’t figure it out and shes sending me for physical therapy and to a nuerologist.
This problem has been haunting me for so long now and I just can’t take it anymore. I have $140 running shoes that I was fit for and I stretch before exercising. I also take multivitamins daily and drink lots of water.
Does anyone have any clues as to what my problem could be? Could it be that I need to strengthen my calves? But then what about the pain in my feet?
Since I was young I have always had problems. When I was three I went for some kind of scan and it said my bones were two years behind which explained why I was only 21 pounds.
When I was 9 I had extreme knee pain and I could hardly walk. They put heel cups in my shoes and told me there was no reason for the pain.
When I was around 12 I started having back pains. More scans were done this time I was diagnosed with scoliosis. Once again told me no reason for my pain.
Now, I am 18. I have been having problems with my left heel for over 3 months now. They have sent me for MRI’s and a CT scan. the MRI showed achillies tendenitis. They put me in a walking boot, and physical therapy.
Now, a month and a half through treatment nothing is improving. The doctor is now saying there is no reason for the pain.
I am not imaging this, I know I am not. There has to be something wrong. Any ideas, please any input.
My feet and legs have been swollen and numb for about two or three months and the pain is not getting better, even with physical therapy. I have tried everything that the doc, recommends, but nothing is working and they don’t seem to have any answers! They’ve done blood tests and an x-ray so far and have found nothing wrong. The pain is getting worse, and I am trying to find out what this could be.
I had nothing in my blood test, my knees have hurt for almost three months now, like they’ve been sore. My ankles crack and feel really weak and my feet are hot and “feel” swollen. What should I do? Where should I go? I am in physical therapy for my knees but it doesn’t seem to be going away.
