For the past 8 years, I have had chronic neck pain. Nothing that I can remember started it. My teacher called my parents telling them that she noticed me cracking my neck excessively in class. I had no idea I was. It was involuntary. For the next few years, I continued to do them. My neck was almost in pain 24/7 and when I cracked it, it would temporarily make the pain go away. A few years ago, the pain started to get very, very bad. When I bent my neck to the right the littlest bit, something would shoot down my arm, into my hand, and out my fingers that left them numb. Almost like I was being electrocuted. I’ve been in the hospital twice and to the doctor countless times and they don’t know what it is. They say it is nothing, but it can’t be. I am in pain almost all the time. A few months ago, the pain began to radiate down to my shoulder. I had multiple X-Rays, and then an MRI, which show’d nothing. The Spinal Cord was fine and the spine seemed to be fine, but the muscle’s were blurry. I was put in Physical Therapy and have been in it for the past two months. I have done all the excersizes, and all I seem to be doing is getting worse. The pain just puts me in a pissed off mood and makes me an asshole and its overall ruining my life.
I have absolutely no idea what I should do. What could be wrong?

I’m commited to MSU. They have two bachelors programs that I think would help me before I transfer to Central Michigan University to get my Doctors of Physical Therapy. Kinesiology or Athletic Training?
I’ve been having chronic moderate to severe back pain for around 10 months now. After many ER and Doctor visits, I’ve had almost no answers except one Doctor who mentioned it sounded like it may be from the epidural, which my pain didn’t begin until almost a year after having my daughter. They sent me to a pain clinic who then sent me to do physical therapy. The physical therapist noticed I had scoliosis which I wasn’t aware of because all I have ever been told was that I had a slight curvature of the spine. No one has directly told me I had scoliosis. I know they asked me if I had it before I got my epidural and I said no of course…Anyway I guess the pain may have took awhile because of scar tissue building up and maybe messing with some nerves..but my mid to lower spine just aches as well as having some fiery pain directly to the right of my spine in that same area. It’s worse when the weather is gloomy and the only thing that feels good is to bend over and arch my back and let my arms dangle. I’d appreciate any comments or suggestions…
Im a junior with a 3.2 GPA. I have 150 service learning hours(i dont know, maybe colleges look at that) & i’ve been on varsity soccer my entire high school career. I would like to major in pre-physical therapy at Purdue. I know I still need to take the sat/act, but as of now, how are my chances looking for getting into Purdue?
I was in an auto accident three months ago. I still have back and neck pain. I was originally sent to physical therapy which didn’t help. My doc. then sent me to a chiropractor who has helped a little, but just can’t seem to fix it. He took X-rays and found I have spondylosis (I guess I already had it but didn’t know. It was just aggravated by the accident) and scoliosis (which I knew I had). Both of these things are complicating my healing from the accident. The chiro doc is really trying hard, but says I’m a challenge. If he can’t fix it, and the physical therapist couldn’t, what can be done? I’m only 40, and was healthy and active before. Does anyone know how long this could take before it’s 100% better? Will the other insurance company (the person who hit me) cover future medical expenses if I can’t fix it and will need chiro or ortho care in the future? I’m afraid to sign anything until I’m all the way better, but don’t want this to drag on forever either. Any advice is really helpful, because I really don’t know what to do. Thanks!
Hello, I am a college student who want to become a physical therapist. I have somewhat of a checkered past. When I was a juvenile I was convicted of three misdemeanors. They were for things like underage drinking and trespassing. I also went to drug rehab and am a recovering addict.
My question is, will this prevent me from becoming a physical therapist? All of the crimes were over seven years ago, and were not violent, sexual, or against vulnerable people. I am a genuinely different person now, and have a great GPA and do lots of community service.

I’m currently a 2nd year physical therapy student and i was wondering if i could pursue medicine after physical therapy. It seems perfect since PT has biology, physics, chemistry, and statistics which are all pre-med subjects.
I have lots of knee pain in both knees, my doctor said that it was patella femural pain form dancing so much and that i should go to physical therapy. So I have been going 2 times a week for like 8 weeks and it hasnt been getting better, some days its worse….could i need surgery?
I am currently planning on majoring in Athletic Training in college, and I was wondering if that would be a good major for getting me into a master’s physical therapy program?
If not athletic training, what other majors would be good to prepare me for a career in physical therapy??

I Have Severe Pain In My Left Hip. Mostly When Im Getting Back Up From Just Bending At The Waist?

It stiffens up really bad when I sit and it is so hard just to get up. This is probably the worst pain I have ever had. It started about 6 months ago and it is just getting worse. I have taken Aleve, Advil, Tylenol…nothing touches it.
I am only 34 and my doctor told me to go the physical therapy…thats it no tests! I almost went to the hospital today it is so bad! any suggestions?
