Pain After Cortisone Injection?

Today I had my cortisone injection on my low back L3S1 disc protrusion.
It was almost fine.
Before the injection i started physical therapy and I was doing pretty good with a little pain.
I stopped oxycodene also.
After the injection and about 5-6 hours I started to have a pain , like it was before.
Is that normal?
My spine specialist told me to keep doing physical therapy and at the same time to have an injection to see how it goes.
I am worrying about that pain now and its been 16 hours.
I would appreciate all your help and tips or ideas.
Thank you in advance

Should I Have An Epidural Steroid Injection If My Pain Is Currently Under Control?

I have a herniated disc in my neck and have had 4 episodes in the past 2 years. Each time I tried a different avenue of treatment, from chiropractic, to medication, to physical therapy. I had a flare up about 2 weeks ago and was refered by my orthopedist to a pain management dr. He perscribed me an oral steroid as well. The oral steroid got my pain under control, but I still have the appointment to have the injection this week. I’m affraid that in a few weeks I might have another flare up, which really affects my quality of life (I can’t move, can’t sleep, can’t lift anything, and it’s difficult to sit at my desk and do work, therefore it affects my productivity in the office as well). I’m hoping the injection will spare me from having another episode for at least another 6 months or so….But with my pain under control, I wonder if it’s neccessary. With my pain virtually gone, should I still go ahead with the ESI??

Cortizone Injection Or Physical Therapy?

I am a college student and have recently been told that I have lateral and medial epicondlytis in my left elbow and tendinitis in my left wrist. The orthopedic prescribed physical therapy for my elbow and wrist as well as a cortizone injection in my elbow. I have only gone to physical therapy two times due to it being located near my home and I go to school 5 hours from home and insurance isn’t accepted near my school. The orthopedic said since my elbow still has a lot of pain from the inflamation to get a cortizone injection.
Should I?
I have read about the injection, side, effects, and what it is but I am still on the fence.
Any thoughts?? Please help, if I am going to get the injection it will be in a week if not I need to know why it isn’t a good idea.
