Hey Im going to be a senior biology major with a gpa of 3.01. I have done almost 200 hours of volunteer work at a Physical Therapist setting. What do I need to do to get into a physical therapy school? Is it likely I will get in with what I have now?
my maw maw recently was referred to stay in a physical therapy facility overnight and the conditions were horrible..so bad that my maw maw called my aunt and uncle and when they came to see if she was overreacting they immmediatly pulled her out and took her home.before when she asked for a glass of water she finally got it at 6:00.there were spots on the ceiling that had previously been leaking up to almost 8 inches in diameter.not to mention when they asked for a wheelchair for my maw maw so she could leave the facility.the lady said she would go get one and never returned.i am furious..any suggestions
I am currently enrolled in college for Physical Therapy Assisting. Just wondering how far I need to go before someone will actually hire me.
ok so I just finished my patient care tech diploma, and im about to finish my EMT as well. Im also working on getting into LPN school and im just trying to pass my last entrance exam. My question is that i have been looking at a few different program besides LPN such as Paramedic, and histotechnologist, and clinical lab tech. Im Having a problem deciding what to choose. The main thing I like about medicine is diagnostic procedures, the challenge of trying to figure out whats wrong, working with people, and trying to fix the problem to make it better. the fields that interest me most are surgery, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, allergy/immunology, and everything else is pretty intrertesting. the things I absolutely have no interest in are geriatrics, physical/occupational therapy, rehab, and orthopedics.Any suggestions on what I might enjoy the most besides being an RN because that is not an option for me right now.
Ok here’s the deal, I’m 23 years old (I’ll be 24 this December) and I had an MRI about a month ago, found out that I have a herniated disc in my lower back. Here’s my problem, I’ve always had back pain but it’s just never been this severe and I use to always see the chiropractor. I’m just upset since this is my 3rd week off of work, the pain is still in my hips down into my left leg, sometimes my left toes and at night when I try to sleep the pain is just 10x more severe. I don’t want surgery this young in my life, physical therapy seems to make it hurt worse and I don’t really know any other at home remedies? Anyone else have this problem with some suggestions? I tried putting the vinegar into my bathwater to drawl the pain out but now I’m itching like crazy since I forgot I’m allergic to vinegar. Forgot to mention, I have a heating blanket I sleep on at night but even with it being on the lowest setting sometimes it still gets too hot. I tried the IcyHot and that only lasts for so long. Plus the doctor gave me percosets (oxycodine) and I don’t like taking them unless I just hurt that bad which is why I’m on here trying to find an alternative. Help, please?
What kind of degree do you need for physical therapy?
I just had ACL reconstruction surgery and i’m freaking out a little because my smart self decided i could rehab. my leg on my own and it got in the way of work so i stopped my physical therapy (i’m a physical therapy session drop-out). Now i’m going nuts because everywhere i look on the internet the people’s comments all say they never went back to 100% mobility with their knee, and sometimes it was worse because they did nothing afterward. i don’t even know where to start with exercises and i’m craving cardio and i don’t have a bike, which is what the woman had me use in p.t.. So i guess i also wanna know if anyone knows of some type of cardio that i could do also. All in all can anyone help me with this?
I have to get a bachelors before moving on to the doctorate anyway and it seems like people who need physical therapy might have some emotional trauma as well so it would help me understand them more. Plus I like psychology. Do I have to stick with a science for my bachelors? Like biology or nursing?
its been happening alot but usually only when i wake up and today it was all day… my neck when i move it any way hurts on the right side of my back like my upper back where the two ‘wings’ are, and it hurts down my triceps, its like an annoying pain i don’t know how to explain it… any ideas? could it have to do with my physical therapy on my legs??? my walking is messed up a little
