So I recently tore my acl during a soccer game during the club season. By the time I had my surgery it was 5 months until the high school season started. I’m the best returning player and it will be my senior season, so it’s really important to me. I was just wondering if any of you know of someone who has successfully completed physical therapy in less than 6 months? And is it more likely for my to tear my acl again in the same knee?
Any information about acl and knee rehab would be appreciated.

I will try to make this short. My mother had been in a rehab/nursing center for physical therapy on her neck, while there she fell and broke her hip, she laid there for 2 weeks before they did anything. She complained to me that they were very rough with her. I spoke with them several times. She was rushed to the hospital last Saturday, they found she was very dehydrated, white blood cell count was at 26000, normal is 1000-1600, and a bad staff infection in her lungs. She died Sunday morning. I know that nothing will bring her back but I think she would still be here if the rehab place was doing their job? I think this place should be investigated so that this does not happen to someone else. What do you guys think?

My back is constantly hurting, mainly my lower back. No matter what I am doing, sitting, laying, standing, walking, etc. I have been to the doctors so many times and have had MRIs CT Scans and Xrays. And still have found nothing! I have been though physical therapy twice now and still no help. The other night while sleeping I woke up in a tremendous amount of pain in my lower back. I sat up in bed and was rubbing my back and noticed a small lump just near my hip bone on my right side. I woke my husband up and asked if he seen a bug bite there. He said no. The lump is very painful when you touch it even when you don’t touch it. I’ve been reading on what it may be and I’m worried it may be a cyst. I’m not sure if the cyst is connected to my back pain in anyway. I’ve read that they can come and go and maybe I’ve had one before and have never felt it. I’m not sure. Another thing I have headaches all the time also and the doctors still have not found the reason for this either! I don’t know if there is anyone that will read this that has the same or close to the same problems I do, but I am getting so tired of the pain I cant handle it. It gets to the point of tears! I have a 2 year old who keeps me on my feat constantly and I try so hard to keep up with her but sometimes the pain in my back is so bad I cant! I don’t know what to do anymore! Is there anyone that can help?!? Did I mention I am only 20 years old! I should not be having these types of problems so young!!!
i was in an auto accident on October 1, 2008 and have been in pain every day since. the problem is w/ my neck and upper back. i have had x-rays and gone through 2 separate 12 session stints of physical therapy which gave me no relief, the only thing that helps are the pain killers. I was just told that i need to get an MRI and most likely have herniated disks and my next step is pain management. I was told I would be getting an epidural treatment I am terrified of needles, i can’t even watch someone get them on tv. I checked out what info i can get online but would like to hear from someone who has had this tye of treatment and what you thought of it, did it help you, does it hurt to have it done, any other things you might be able to tell me to put my mind at rest. thanks in advance

hello im sixteen and i found out that i broke a piece of bone off my spine. turns out it didn’t heal right and instead of connecting back to my spine it fused into the scar tissue around it. after a test my doctor said that it was old and wasn’t going to heal rather it will stay where it is. he said basically for example it could like 3 months old or even two years old. and i have dealt with the lower back pain for about six weeks. do you think that surgery would be an option, because he recommend that i get an injection into my spine to make the pain go away.
what is this injection?
if my fracture is old why am i getting this intense pain in my back and side all of a sudden?
im doing physical therapy, do you think that will really help me?
what can be done about this. the only meds im on help me sleep but during the day i just cant take this freaking pain anymore.
can anyone help me out here??

I don’t know where to start. I’m suffering with horrible knee pain. It’s gotten to the point where I’m missing school because of it. I’ve been to the orthopedic twice and he refired me to a ruematoid doctor because he could find nothing wrong with the bone or muscle tears. No anti-inflamatorys work, and neither do pain meds. I’ve been to physical therapy which made me miserable and terribly limp. I’ve been tested for ruematoid arthritis but tests came back negative. I have genu valgus slightly but I don’t think that’s the cause of it. I’m also experiencing elbow, ankle, finger, hip, back, & thy bone pain. And know one can figure out why!? I’m only 14! I need help please!!!!!
I am planning to go to college for physical therapy, but I want to get a doctrine, but I don’t know if I want to stay in school for almost a yeat more and really don’t think it will make much of a difference What is the difference. It is not like I am going to teach or anything. I just want to get a job as physical therapist…. Does it make a diffence in the salary or is it the same?? Thank You
I don’t have insurance, so i was referred by my doctor to come to his clinic instead of scrapping together my pennies. I waited a month to get in and waited three hours int he waiting room, then the nurse, not a practitioner, came in, looked at my knee and declared that physical therapy would help my pain level . I have a torn meniscus and a tracking issue with my knee cap since Oct. I have had a ton of pain, with no pain meds or x-rays. I did get a shot about four weeks ago and paid cash for the whole amount.
Do you think i should call someone? or be happy that I at least got therapy ( free for me)? Or call his other office, the one i saw him at and see what they say? I just don’t know what to do. i am broken hearted over the whole thing. It was a let down. He told me if the shot didn’t work, he’d get me in the clinic and he’d help me. I just didn’t realize that therapy was that help.
Adult child is being charged to violating probation (more than 1st offense). They just had wrist surgery two weeks ago, removing 3 bones, in a cast, and in physical therapy. Will they allow medical care? How? They were in drug rehab 4 months ago.
