My grades are just O.K. they dont stand out or anything. Under a 3.0. I would even consider physical therapy assistant first if that would be a easier route

I’m looking for a good pain management doctor in Phoenix, AZ. He/she needs to be the type who believes in giving prescriptions for narcotic pain med’s. Reason being, what is wrong with my spine cannot be corrected or fixed. I’ve done the physical therapy route, the epidural, etc. and nothing helps. I’ve already had 2 spine surgery’s and one reconstructive surgery. The reconstructive wasn’t to help with my pain but just to put me back together again after my first surgeon massively made mistakes and left me with a bunch of missing bone, etc.. I also have a lot of scar tissue impinging on nerve roots and Fibromyalgia to top things off. I take Oxycontin for pain. My current doctor isn’t really up to date with today’s technology and also is very negligent with my care. I see him every month and the actual appt. lasts only long enough for him to write out a new prescription. I don’t even have enough time to sit down. I’m not allowed to tell him of any of my problems and have ended up walking out the door with a broken elbow, new pain in other areas, and much more. I need a doctor who will actually listen and maybe run a test or two every few years. So please, if you know of a doctor who fits this profile, please be kind enough to share his name with me.
P.S. I don’t want any doctors who are against actually prescribing pain med’s. They may be great for others who don’t need them but not for those of us who do just to have some quality of life.
i was in an auto accident on October 1, 2008 and have been in pain every day since. the problem is w/ my neck and upper back. i have had x-rays and gone through 2 separate 12 session stints of physical therapy which gave me no relief, the only thing that helps are the pain killers. I was just told that i need to get an MRI and most likely have herniated disks and my next step is pain management. I was told I would be getting an epidural treatment I am terrified of needles, i can’t even watch someone get them on tv. I checked out what info i can get online but would like to hear from someone who has had this tye of treatment and what you thought of it, did it help you, does it hurt to have it done, any other things you might be able to tell me to put my mind at rest. thanks in advance

I am tired of being treated like a criminal for being in pain. I was in a car accident about 7 years ago and have been in sever pain since. I have had multiple back surgeries and need disk replacements on L5 and L4. I used to be fit and a runner but since I have gain 100 lbs due not being able to be active and depression. I have lived with the pain for years but up until about 2 years ago it just got too bad. I have tried injections, physical therapies and massage therapy. I need pain meds so i can be active so I can have surgery. I am so tired of feeling guilty for asking. Please Help! I am at my wits end.
I have a chronic back ailment and have lost my insurance after 6 years of treatment , mostly with medicine and physical therapy. I moved home to Louisiana after losing my inurance and going thru a divorce, finding myself with less money, alot of pain ,no help with the bills and doctors telling me to go to a pain clinic . The ones i have talked to so far are either too expensive (600 monthly) or insurance only.
I was seeing an orthopedic because i have very bad pain in my back due to scoliosis in my back and neck and when muscle relaxers, physical therapy, and stretches were not helping he told me to make an app. with a pain management doctor. My mom goes to pain management so i made an app. with her doctor. What do you think he will do for me when i go? I already want a breast reduction, can he help me find a surgeon?
PS- Back surgery is not an option
My husband’s had a spinal fusion and a spinal cord stimulator (wonderful device) implanted but he still have pain in his lumbar. He’s had chiropracty, osteopathy, electrofied acupuncture, watsu, every drug you can think of, physical therapy, trans-cutaneous nerve stimulation, pain relief patches (lido and fentynyl), electronic muscle stimulation, pool therapy, nitro paste, and I’m sure I missed a few. What are you all doing for your chronis back pain?
I have chronic back pain, and my regular doctor is sending me to one, since physical therapy isn’t working. (He doesn’t like to prescribe narcotic pain medication more than once). So what can I expect at the Pain Clinic?
I’ve been to a pain management doctor for my scoliosis and the first visit he put me in a physical therapy program and gave me a script for some patches. The PT made my back worse if it did anything at all and the patches dont work. He said I was too young for pain killers but I need them badly. Whats the next step? if the pt and patches didnt work will he reconsider pain killers?
