on april 23rd me and my friend got rear ended and i went to the hospital and they said i just had whip lash, well on may 13th me and my mom were in another accident that was pretty serious. I again went to the dr and i have a sprained wrist and i have to go to 2 weeks of physical therapy. I got a cat scan but nothing showed up. Well it is now the 19th and my head still hurts to lay it down and to make quick movements. I am a little more sensative to light(it makes my head hurt) and really any movement makes it hurt. This pain is not in my neck, it is mainly on the left side of my head. Any advice? should i see the dr again or call them?

Medical Help? Advice?

I am interested in being in the IMSA Excellence program in my school, I want to know if physical therapy is in the medical field so I can list them in the same category. I am only in 7th grade. I want to be in that kind of field.
I wanted to ask my docotor for a prescription for medical marijuana, but i am absolutely scared to. I have chronic back pain. I am currently on vicoden, going to massage, chiropractor, acupuncture, and physical therapy. Its not helping. I just don’t want to ask and have her say no or look at me different. What do you think?
I want to be a physical therapist..but I am not one of those rich, genius, “future doctors”..i’m smart and get good grades and take honors classes and such, but i’m not a brainiac doctor. What’s the difference?

I was diagnosed originally with spinal stenosis and a degenerated disk. I went thru physical therapy, was given shots and had nerves lasered in my back. Nothing helped. I seeked a second opinion and was told I did not have those medical conditions. It took until July 2007 and working with my own family physician that I found out what I have. I have osteo arthritis and I am having to have my left hip replaced. I have suffered in pain since the orignal diagnosis and had spent a lot of money on unnecessary medical procedures and medicine. Is there a statue of of limitations of sueing the original doctor who mis diagnosed me?
I have an incurable disease that affects my spinal cord. This disease has affected my ability to walk and stand for any length of time. With physical therapy, I can regain my ability to walk and stand.
This is the situation that has happened to a neighbor of mine: the man was in a auto accident where the other driver admits full responsibility and has full coverage. The injured party has large and serious bruising on his knee and his foot and ankle as a result. He goes to his PCP who refers him to a orthopoedic surgeon who takes x-rays of the ankle and the knee… he finds no fracture but he wants the man to have physical rehab for the ankle.
My question is does the auto insurance of the reponsible party only pay for the medical procedures… or would they also consider pain and suffering? And is that a given?
This neighbor is a 50 year old man who had a stroke many years ago and is currently unemployed… he is also on coumadin (a blood thinner that no doubt contributed to his severe bruising… of course he has the right to drive and is not impaired). He is not the brightest bulb and I want him to be fairly compensated….. he’s a good guy and I am afraid that he might be taken advantage of.
Also, is “pain and suffering” amounts (if it would be warranted) based on a scale of how much the medical procedures cost? In other words, if the medical bills totalled $1000 would he expect 2 or 3 times more than that?
I would really appreciate any answers from anywhere who knows about this type of law… thank you.
My 6 year old daughter with cerebral palsy, optic nerve hypoplasia, hypotonia, ect. She has physical and occupational therapy one time a week and doesn’t arrive at school that day until noon. (Doctor has ordered “early in the day, early in the week” because of hypotonia and fatigue) We are going as early in the day as we can (8:00am) and have failed to find a rehab center open on Saturday or Sunday. So school hours have become our only option.
This is doctor ordered and is imperative for her health.
Today, at our IEP meeting we were told that she would not receive special education services for that day and all missed work would be sent home. They said this is because her physical and occupational therapies are not educationally related. This is what happened last year in Kindergarten and it took my daughter 2 hours each night to finish her homework to make up the missed work. She became so stressed about school that she sees a psychologist for school related anxiety.
She fatigues very easily and does not have much energy left after a full school day. The director of the county special education department told us that the law stated that they are not required to serve her on that day, nor are they required to have a teacher help her make up the work.
Can anyone cite this law for me?
