Where Can I Find Stronger Pain Medication?

I have severe chronic upper and lower back pain, as well as occasional migraines. I’m only 18 and it’s probably not going to get any better. Some days it’s get enough that it’s difficult to get out of bed. In the past it has affected my ability to attend school (I recently dropped out of college majorly due to poor attendance because of it), and my doctor refuses to prescribe me anything other than anti-inflammatory medications, because he is afraid that my emotional disorders will make me likely to abuse the medications and become addicted. I AM currently in physical therapy, which has helped, but it continues to be a struggle and to hinder my everyday life. I’m desperate to find something stronger that will actually lessen or get rid of my pain, and I’ve heard that Oxycontin is one of the strongest pain medications out there. If anyone can tell me of websites that offer Oxycontin or something along those lines without a previous prescription from a doctor or without having to physically go to a pharmacy, I’d love to know.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Liz.

Pain Medication Or Live With The Pain?

I hurt my shoulder when i was younger in a motocycle accident. Over the year it has been operated on 5 times, I went to physical therapy for a few years, then about 5 years ago they told me there is nothing they can do. there is no more soft tissue in it to operate so it is just bone on bone. It is so painful and useless that i cant pick up my grandchildren close the car door or do any thing with it. It cracks and locks in certain places and on a scale of 1 to 10 in pain the only thing that hurt worse are the 3 heart attacks ive had but that pain dont last long before you pass out and then when you come to your stabilized and full of morphine or you dont wake up becouse your dead. Anyways back to my question. I was taking vicodine then percasets and they dont help anymore (the doctors call it frozen shoulder because you cant move it). Now they have me taking 2 40 mg of oxycodone, i went up in dosage for over a year and i wont go no higher. I have been taking it for about 6 months and realize i am addicted to them, but they really work i am able to do things i could not do the pain is minemum i am 50 years old what i would like your opinion on is it worth being addicted because it works so good and i have no side effects or should i just stop and live with a use less shoulder i know i will be on them the rest of my life if i stay on them now sorry this was so long any answer would be appeciated thank you.

What Kind Of Pain Medication Would Be A Good Step Up From Ultram?

A little back info: I had a major car accident in 2006, and came out with what I assumed was nothing more than a seat belt shaped bruise. I declined offers to go to the emergency room, as I thought I was fine, but a few days after I found that I was in increasingly bad back pain. By the time I found a doctor and was put through physical therapy, most of the muscles in my cervical and thoratic spine had atrophied to some degree, and this limits my mobility and gives me daily pain. Since 2006 I have been on both Ultram and Flexeril to control pain, but they are both doing a whole lot of nothing.
I plan on seeing my doctor today- how should I approach the topic of receiving stronger pain meds without seeming like a junkie? It’s not as if I’m asking to be on morphine… I just want to be able to do things my peers are doing. Being 20 and in pain all the time is pretty depressing.

Have The Side-effects Of Your Medication (mental/physical Illness) Prevented You From Performing Daily Tasks?

Sometimes, I get put on medications that make me sleepy, have stomach pains, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, nausea. etc. I NEED this medication. Antidepressants & anti-anxiety/OCD, & Tourette’s medications. 1 time, I got fired for sleeping on the job, & the boss didn’t care about my medication side effects.
Also, the drowsiness would make me oversleep, miss school, fail a test, fighting to stay awake, etc. I have my BA in Spanish, & my Vocational Rehab. counselor refuses to help me, & she closed my case behind my back without telling me. I made a grievance, & the grievance lady agreed with the counselor. I want to work, but my disability & medications, & people discriminating & pre-judging, are ALL what’s holding me back from getting a job. Also lack of transportation. & I can’t take just any job. My disability may be mental, but I need special accommodations to work alone in a quiet office or something, since I get distracted easily & have trouble concentrating & focusing.
I feel so hopeless right now. What can I do? I can’t stand on my feet past 30 minutes, & I can’t work in noisy environments. I have some computer skills, & whatever skills I don’t have, I can go back & learn it. I’m brushing up on my Spanish skills & trying to learn French, as well.

I just want meds to be able live a normal life without being in pain all the time. Where are some good doctors?

Pain Medication Needed For Myself And Husband W/ Injuries?

my husband and i both have herniated discs. i am going through physical therapy but it isnt helping. i am waking up hurting now and i have five children to take care of so i cant be debilitated by pain to where it is preventing me doing my job as a wife and mother and my husband has already had surgery and has another herniated disc to deal with as well as doin lawn care(self employed) so he s the bread winner so to speak and i know hes in more pain than i am. i only have medipass and none of the docs want to give us pain meds. i know y they dont like to but in both of our cases they are needed. me and my husband would not take them if we didnt feel the need to so i was wondering what can i do about it? they just think that we are pill poppers wantin quick fixes. its insulting. meanwhile both of us are suffering. im not gettin any housework done because of the need to lie down where im most comfortable and its unacceptable to myself and my husband. can anyone help?

What Medication Could I Receive For Pain Resulting From Scoliosis?

I was diagnosed with Scoliosis when I was in high school. It is not severe enough to require surgery, but I have almost constant pain because of it, to the point where I often can’t sleep at night. My treatment has been abysmal. Physical therapy was hardly the answer to my pain problems, and using Advil, Tylenol, etc. is just a joke. I am considering asking my doctor for some medication that actually works, but I have heard that this often results in being “flagged” for trying to get painkillers, with me getting perhaps a recommendation for more physical therapy. I was just wondering how common it is to receive Vicodin, Percocet, etc. for this condition. I have had friends offer me painkillers, but I really don’t want to have to go the illegal route to obtain necessary medication. However, I sure can’t imagine spending the rest of my life being severely achy and sleepy because my stupid back wants to make me miserable.

Should I Take Pain Medication?

I have 2 herniated disc along with a degenerative disc in my lower back. L5 and L6 to be exact. All of which is causing Sciatica. I have tried everything. Physical therapy, nerve block/injections, acupunture and chro just to name a few.I am a severe asthmatic and thus suffer from a wide range of allergies, one of which is NSAID’s e.g Motrin, Advil etc. Being allergic to antiinflammatory meds is a big problem when it comes to controlling pain since I can’t take them and that is the primary treatment for my problem. I am only 41 years old, I refuse any type of invasive treatment, so that leaves me with 2 options #1 spend the rest of my life in severe pain eventually becoming less and less functional #2 which is highly recommended by my pain managementt team and my orthopedist, and that is to take narcotic pain meds for an extended amount of time. Heres the problem I am TERRIFIED of becoming addicted . We all hear the horror stories. I would be monitered closely. What should I do?

Do I Need To Take Pain Medication Prior To My Physical Therapy?

I am starting my 4 week PT today. I asked my physician assistant last week if I should take my medication before coming in for my therapy. He seemed indifferent about it. He said if I wanted to ok, if not ok. I was wondering, those that have gone for PT before, did you take pain meds prior to you appointment? I didn’t know if it was important that any pain I have, I would be able to tell the therapist about during the therapy, otherwise it is covered up by the prescription medication.
