What Branch Of Medicine To Go Into?

ok so I just finished my patient care tech diploma, and im about to finish my EMT as well. Im also working on getting into LPN school and im just trying to pass my last entrance exam. My question is that i have been looking at a few different program besides LPN such as Paramedic, and histotechnologist, and clinical lab tech. Im Having a problem deciding what to choose. The main thing I like about medicine is diagnostic procedures, the challenge of trying to figure out whats wrong, working with people, and trying to fix the problem to make it better. the fields that interest me most are surgery, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, allergy/immunology, and everything else is pretty intrertesting. the things I absolutely have no interest in are geriatrics, physical/occupational therapy, rehab, and orthopedics.Any suggestions on what I might enjoy the most besides being an RN because that is not an option for me right now.

Sports Medicine Complex?

I am about to graduate with a doctorate in physical therapy. I am considering getting together with other talented surgeons, athletic trainers, and other personel to invest in opening a HUGE sports medicine complex that would contain a physical therapy and rehab center, a recreation center and public gym, and an orthopedic practice and surgical center. This would be an all inclusive sports medicine facility, where athletes as well as regular individuals can be physically active as well as cared for, instead of having to travel all around the state to get various sports-related treatment.
What are your thoughts on this idea?
Do you think it would be well received?
Any ideas as to how I can make this work, or work better?
Thanks!

Have Any Of These People Espousing Socialised Medicine Actually Lived In A Country Where They Have It?

I see people espousing the benefits of universal health care all the time. They talk about how great this is and that is, but it seems like none of them have ever lived anywhere where they actually have the system.
I lived in a country with socialised medicine for the first 30 years of my life, and it was not all it’s cracked up to be. And there are some benefits. Emergency problems are taken care of right away, and they are taken care of well. The problem is is that you have to go by the government’s definition of “emergency” and not your own. My father needed a knee replacement a few years ago, but the government did not think it was an “emergency” and they said that physical therapy and pain killers would suffice. There were 2 doctors who said he needed a replacement, but another said that it was not necessary. So he lived in pain until it was too much to take and took out a loan and paid for it out of pocket.
And for instance, I take medications for a medical condition. Some of the treatments cause males to develop breasts and others don’t. The ones that don’t cause males to develop breasts are generally newer and cost more so the government has only approved them for people who have failed other treatments. But I don’t want to develop male breasts, so I had to pay for the drug out of pocket.
I moved to the USA and I love my health insurance plan.
Are most people who hail socialised medicine as the next best thing even aware of it’s downsides? Most of them appear to have no idea what they are even talking about.

Pain Medicine?

I’m currently on Ultram. I have arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I was tried on Fentynal but allergic to it (rashes, hives, blisters, gaulded areas, sunburn type rash on back)
I have tried Lyrica and it messes with another health problem I have so I can’t take it.
What do you think my pain management doctor will try next?
I also go to physical therapy, getting ready to have knee surgery, getting a tens unit.
I have to have narcotic pain releife as I have tried many non narcotic pain treatment methods over the past two years and have not had releife.
So please just tell me what is your guess that they will try me on next.

Is It Better To Go Into Internal Medicine If I Want To Be A Sports Physician?

I’ve searched many sites and they all say that to get into Sports Medicine I have to go into either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine first. I was hoping Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation would be a better way of getting into that specialty but I don’t know if I can if I take Rehab.

Is It Possible To Pursue Medicine After Getting My Physical Therapy Degree?

I’m currently a 2nd year physical therapy student and i was wondering if i could pursue medicine after physical therapy. It seems perfect since PT has biology, physics, chemistry, and statistics which are all pre-med subjects.
