I want to become an Athletic Trainer or a physical therapist. Can i do so from The University of Oklahoma? If not where can i go in Oklahoma or Texas?

I am wondering if I can go to college for a sports medicine degree and use it to become a physical therapist. ik that there is a physical therapy degree but no 4 yr colleges offer it or if they did its very expensive so i was wondering if sports medicine degree could still get me where i want to go and i can save money and not go to far from home.
I recently was diagnosed with a small tumor in my spinal chord. The surgery went great, but the recovery is predicted to be exceedingly painful. Its been a week and I’m so sensitive on my neck a few strands of hair that slipped out of my ponytail left me near tears. I’m off IV meds completely, and start therapy soon. The only way to deal with the hypersensitivity is desensitization therapy…and pain meds supposedly defeat the purpose. I’m taking things to calm the nerves donw my doctor gave me but since I’m only 14 they can’t be that strong and treat the cause not the symptom and don’t start kicking in till a week from now. How can I deal with this best? Any techniques or tips at all would help! I’m sure the therapist will have suggestions but I’m nervous and would like more information of my own.
Is It Possible To Get Into A Physical Therapy School If You Have A Degree In Sports Medicine?

I want to kown if its is possible to get a degree in sport medicine and then go to graduate school to get a physical therapy degree. I want to go to DePauw and get a sports medicine degree with a minor in athletic training and then go to Indiana to get a physical therapy degree. Could I get in or do I need to go through a physical therapy program? Thanks for any help you can provide.
I understand how to be a Physical Therapist but how would that merge into Sports Medicine?
