I work full time for my company, but part-time in one postition and part-time in another still makes me a part-time employee and ineligible for benefits. I make a little too much for medicaid, but not enough to buy a plan that covers me. I lost my last health insurance 2 years ago when I lost my old job while I was having surgeries on my hand to fix a bone defect. My problem is now that I’m having a lot of problems with my hand and will need another surgery to fix the problem. I can’t afford to pay 30k for it and no doctor will do it because it’s “not an emergency” eventhough I’m in pain. I know that I’ll have to be insured for a year before it will cover a pre exhisting. The hospital turned me down for any type assistance, and even if it did I the doctors are all seperate so I’m still in a lot of debt plus physical therapy is expensive.
What can I do?

what gpa and what test scores to get into there program?
I have had pain in my left heel for quite a few months now. I don’t believe that it’s plantar fasciitis. Maybe it’s heel spurs or a stress fracture. I’m having a hard time walking. Has anyone ever been treated for something like this? Should I ice it? Is there a good way to wrap it?
Now the obvious answer is going to be “go to the doctor.” However, I’m kind of stuck in the “invisible class,” that is, I am a temp, have no health insurance plan, barely make enough to make ends meet, but don’t qualify for any kind of public help. I make “too much money” for low-income and sliding fee scale clinics. I also somehow owe the IRS a large amount of money in taxes, so paying out of pocket, full-price, for a doctor visit (much less meds, physical therapy, or procedural treatment) is just not in the realm of possibility for me. I need some home remedies until I can land a permanent job (which will hopefully happen sometime this month). Sorry to whine, but I need HELP!
Thanks a lot
I was hurt on the job last year, i injured my hand by tearing my legiments in my right hand, and the pain is so horrible now, a year later, and l&i are being complete jerks about this, they decided to cut my pain clinic medical help and wont pay for my medicine anymore, I talked to a nurse at the University of Washington where i got my surgery last march, and she said l&i decided to send me to a rehability center in Seattle, which is a ferry ride away from my house which if forever away to me, to take care of my medical needs, she said i will get an small apartment and $60,000 worth of medical costs along with physical therapy and medical attention including medicine, but im completely lost and they are sending me a borchoure within the next few days, but what i dont understand is why are they going to pay that much money for this when they wouldnt even cover small amount of costs from medical care in my town whats your outlook on this? anyone been to a rehab for injury matters?
I injured my shoulder 2.5 years ago on my job. I have had 2 surgeries on it since. —-Suprascapular Neoropathy and Sub acromial decompression.— I have no insurance and have paid cash for this. I have had over 3 months of physical therapy. I cannot raise my arm all the way. The only way I am able to use it is with pain medicine(Loratab 10). It really helps me get through the day. I am still seeing an orthapedic doctor.
I just had 2 mri’s of neck and back to see if it is coming from there(they turned up normal). I have seen a doctor for my chronic pain and he referred me to a pain specialist who gives nerve blocks and It’s going to cost around $5000 every 6 months –I cannot afford that. So if my orthepedic doctor gives up on me or refers me to a pain specialist I am out of luck.
I cannot live with this pain… I need a doctor to prescribe me pain medicine I need it! Not for drugs for pain. I live in Dalton Georgia-near Chattanooga. Please help me find one who will help me. Thanks!
for over 2 months now i have had pain in my back, next to my shoulder blade. its on the left, inside, towards my spine. its a sore/tender and very severe pain. its only painful when i move a certain way, upright and rotate my shoulder. i’ve been to the doc several times, and physical therapy. no change, its not worse but also not better. the next step would be an MRI, i guess. the pain can radiate to my neck, and underarm also, usually after i work (i do heavy lifting). some people have said it is a strained muscle, but wouldn’t that be better by now? others have said it could be a torn muscle, or even a pinched nerve. anyone ever had and experience like this?
i should add that this is a muscle specific pain. i can feel a knot and if i rub it, it gets better for a few minutes. the muscle there feels tender to the touch but only severe pain when i sit/stand upright and rotate my shoulder towards the back, it hits that spot and i feel like i’m gona cry. is there such a thing as a bruised muscle? is this what a torn muscle feels like? will an MRI even show info aobut a muscle problem?? help!!
i have been to a chiro, with no relief. also, the muscles in my neck and on the opposite side of my back are extremely tight. is this from compensation?? sorry so lengthly but i want to give as much info as possible.
So I recently tore my acl during a soccer game during the club season. By the time I had my surgery it was 5 months until the high school season started. I’m the best returning player and it will be my senior season, so it’s really important to me. I was just wondering if any of you know of someone who has successfully completed physical therapy in less than 6 months? And is it more likely for my to tear my acl again in the same knee?
Any information about acl and knee rehab would be appreciated.
Pain But Don’t Need Surgery?

I have been in pain from a large herniated cisk in my cervical for about 2 years now due to an auto accident. I have had mris, physical therapy, accupuncture, cortizone shots, and facet blocks. All with no releif. I was sent to a neurosergeon by my spinal surgeon. He says that i dont need surgery unless i can’t move my legs or if i can’t control my bowels.so what do i do now? The large herniated disc is pressing on my nerve canal and is causing great pain at times. Has anyone out there experienced anything like this? HELP
I have been on heavy narcotics for the past 10 years because of a painful bone disease and neurological degeneration. I have avascular necrosis from having to take large amounts of solu medrol a steroid after a serious head injury. This caused the blood flow to my knees, hip and ankle joints to stop and the bones to die, My knees no longer bend at all any more. Because of that I walk with my hips and my back has been deformed into a major sway back causing pressure on my discs and nerves causing neuropathy in my right knee, leg and foot. It feels like there is barbed wire wrapped around my knee and ankle and like my foot is being tortured by electric shocks. Now I have a pinched nerve in my left arm causing pain in my left shoulder, upper arm, elbow and wrist. I am now confined to a wheelchair or electric scooter. I am not a cry baby and have done everything, steroid injections, physical therapy, surgery, everything any doctor has ever asked me to do. The doctors all admit the pain must be severe but if someone has never had to depend on morphine, methadone or hydrocodone to get though the day they have no clue what what I am living with. I have a pain specialist and have never had to ask for more then I am allowed a month, gone to the ER for extra, seen more then one doctor at a time to get my medicine but I still get treated like a criminal. Because I have weak legs I fell and knocked myself out. My husband called the ambulance and at the hospital they treated me like an overdose patient even after they found no excess of medication in my blood and counted all my pills and found I was to the day with my medication. I am not am addict. I am dependent on the narcotics for any quality of life but without them I would be bedridden and most likely suicidal. I just want people to understand. Even doctors and nurses. I am not getting stoned or high. I am not pain free nor do I expect to be.I do not drive under the influence. I just want some quality of life. Invent something that removes pain other then a narcotic and I will take it gladly.
I have had chronic back pain for about 5 years, but it was not until i started up my ballet training again that it got so bad. In the past i have done physical therapy. My x-rays show that my spine is curving and my hip has tilted forward. This has caused my nerves to be irritated and surrounding muscles to tighten to the point that my rage of motion and ability is almost none. My chiropractor thinks i have periformis syndrom where my periformis tightens around my syatic nerve. I cannot get my muscles to relax in order to keep the chiropractic alterations to hold and no medicine seems to work. I have 2 different types of muscle relaxers, a pain killer, also i recently got a high dose of a steriod shot that still didnt work. Has anyone had this type of problem…maybe similar….if so what type of doctor did you see, how they helped and what caused all the pain. I really need some solutions. Ive been to regular doctors and it hasnt been working
