I am 26 yrs old and have been dealing with this for over a year and 1/2. I have been to 3 cardiologists who have confirmed that is not related to my heart. 3 card. and 5 other docs i have seen stated that it could be costochonditis but should have cleared after 6 months by being on roids and anti-inflammation meds. I have had EKGs, xrays, MRIs and stress tests, blood tests, urine tests all have come back negative. I have been through physical therapy as well. I am just 40 lbs overweight is what i am told each time. I have changed my eating habits, excercise by walking more.I am currently taking lyrica, robaxin, savella still feel pain and sometimes have really bad flares up that will take everything out of me.I am at a lost and the pain is taking over my life. I am miserable

do occupational therapists work in settings like sport rehab or with athletes??? I haven’t heard of it yet but I know they work in a variety of settings. Just wondering if anyone knows of any OT who does or if you do work in something like sport rehab!
(and I already know about Physical Therapists….. only talking about OT’s!!! thanks!!)
So I really dont know where to start.Im not quite sure if the pain started before or after i broke my right fibula. But now i constantly have a slight lower back pain only on the right side. I can be sitting and it hurts but standing hurts more. I went to physical therapy and did a lot of stretching for a few months and it got better a little. And it does feel tight so wen i stretch it does feel better. HERE is the WEIRD PART. Whenever i have to use the restroom #2 the pain acts up even more or it tightens up even more and stretching really has no affect on it. After I use the restroom however the pain lessens significantly and then the stretches do have affect. Does anyone know what may be causing this?
A little over a year ago, I managed to aquire a compound fracture of my radius about 4 inches distal of my elbow. This required reconstructive surgery, a plate, and 6 screws.
I have worked at The Home Depot for 2 years. It is a manual labor job. I have gained seniority there and I have worked my way up a little. The job requires heavy lifting. I can manage most things but I simply cannot do others. I am not on a doctor’s note, currently.
Most days, my arm hurts bad after work. Almost everyday, sometime during the day, it will cramp up and throb for about 5 minutes even if I am at rest and have been so all day.
What my question is, is there anything that can be done uninvasively? Pain medication? I don’t have time or money for physical therapy or additional surgery. I simply accept that my body is permanently damaged.
If I were your patient, what would you do? I think pain medication would be the best bet but I want to know what most physicians would do before I pay a copay and he or she says to deal with it.
By the way, I have tried tylenol of every kind, aspirin, motrin, and naproxen. None help with this.
Thank you for your time.

Can any one tell me the their salary or the average salary of a physical therapist working in California only
I don’t have insurance, so i was referred by my doctor to come to his clinic instead of scrapping together my pennies. I waited a month to get in and waited three hours int he waiting room, then the nurse, not a practitioner, came in, looked at my knee and declared that physical therapy would help my pain level . I have a torn meniscus and a tracking issue with my knee cap since Oct. I have had a ton of pain, with no pain meds or x-rays. I did get a shot about four weeks ago and paid cash for the whole amount.
Do you think i should call someone? or be happy that I at least got therapy ( free for me)? Or call his other office, the one i saw him at and see what they say? I just don’t know what to do. i am broken hearted over the whole thing. It was a let down. He told me if the shot didn’t work, he’d get me in the clinic and he’d help me. I just didn’t realize that therapy was that help.
Im going to a community college majoring in physical therapist assistant and Im thinking about changing my major.I wanted to know if I can become a physical therapist with just a bachlor degree intstead of a master’s?
