Ladies,
I have a pelvic floor disorder, diagnosed after miscarrying my first child ![]()
My question is that I have been prescribed physical therapy. How in the world does this work? My first appointment is on Friday and I just want to be prepared.

I have had a pain in my inner “inguinal” area. On the inner pelvic area. Mainly just on the bone following all along from my pubic area to my butt. Just on the left side. Intercourse is painful, as pressure on this pelvic bone makes everything very tender. I dont notice it so much during the day, except when i push on the area to see if it still hurts! Which it has now for the last 3-4 months. I just had a doctors appointment, and was given an inflammation antibiotic, which i took for the recommended days, with no improvement in pain. My OBGYN said that the next step is possibly physical therapy, i have had no scans or ultrasounds in any areas. Just wondering if anyone has anything similar to this pelvic pain? Or has any experience with physical therapy in the pelvic region. Thanks. Oh, i’m 23 female & not pregnant.
No, I’m not joking. I had never heard of such a thing and thought it was totally rediculous but I just started going last week. I had a fourth degree tear with labor and have had nothing but problems since then. I still suffer from pain in general and incontenence issues. I was just curious as to what others experienced with this. No one ever knows what I am talking about. I did not make this up. Please, no insensitive comments. It’s a sore subject…no pun intended.

Finally after going to see about 6 different doctors and beong misdiagnosed tons of times- i have been sent to see a physical therapist for pelvic floor dysfrunction. I guess have a torn hip rotator muscle and i am VERY tense with muscle spasms.
I have tried deep tissue massage and lots of other holistic therapies for pain- and nothing has worked- I just dont want to waste more money trying something that doesnt help.
Has anyone had any luck with this kind of physical therapy? If so, what should i expect?
