I was hurt on the job last year, i injured my hand by tearing my legiments in my right hand, and the pain is so horrible now, a year later, and l&i are being complete jerks about this, they decided to cut my pain clinic medical help and wont pay for my medicine anymore, I talked to a nurse at the University of Washington where i got my surgery last march, and she said l&i decided to send me to a rehability center in Seattle, which is a ferry ride away from my house which if forever away to me, to take care of my medical needs, she said i will get an small apartment and $60,000 worth of medical costs along with physical therapy and medical attention including medicine, but im completely lost and they are sending me a borchoure within the next few days, but what i dont understand is why are they going to pay that much money for this when they wouldnt even cover small amount of costs from medical care in my town whats your outlook on this? anyone been to a rehab for injury matters?

I see people espousing the benefits of universal health care all the time. They talk about how great this is and that is, but it seems like none of them have ever lived anywhere where they actually have the system.
I lived in a country with socialised medicine for the first 30 years of my life, and it was not all it’s cracked up to be. And there are some benefits. Emergency problems are taken care of right away, and they are taken care of well. The problem is is that you have to go by the government’s definition of “emergency” and not your own. My father needed a knee replacement a few years ago, but the government did not think it was an “emergency” and they said that physical therapy and pain killers would suffice. There were 2 doctors who said he needed a replacement, but another said that it was not necessary. So he lived in pain until it was too much to take and took out a loan and paid for it out of pocket.
And for instance, I take medications for a medical condition. Some of the treatments cause males to develop breasts and others don’t. The ones that don’t cause males to develop breasts are generally newer and cost more so the government has only approved them for people who have failed other treatments. But I don’t want to develop male breasts, so I had to pay for the drug out of pocket.
I moved to the USA and I love my health insurance plan.
Are most people who hail socialised medicine as the next best thing even aware of it’s downsides? Most of them appear to have no idea what they are even talking about.
What’s the occupational title for a therapist who works with people who are mentally/physically disabled?

Heres the story .
One of the three bestfreinds , Brittani, was in an extreamly fatal car accident. her boyfriend was killed on scene, he was doing 80 around a hard corner and hit an industrial van. brittani was rushed to the hopsital and barley made it, she had a shattered shoulder bone, 3 broken ribs , a punctured lung , and small brain damage in her frountal lobe…raechel and i were there from the moment she was in the ICU unit from the moment she went to physical rehab, shes rememberd our faces the whole time! 3 months later to present day she is walking talking and her memory is comming back at full pace. we love her so much , and birttani decided that all three of uss need to get matching tattoos

what the heck, that is very competitive. i haven’t been back to college in four years and i was looking at becoming a physical therapist assistant but how the heck am i supposed to get in with those odds. any physical therapist assistants here?? how did you get in with such a competitive field. i am looking at schools in illinois by the way.
why are some people rude and judgemental about people with chronic pain to use narcotics (the dirty n word).Are they jelous,do they think they want a high and not pain controll?If some one is unfortunite to have chronic pain without a cure and they have tried other ways to cope without a good out come why cant they have these meds?Beceause narcotics produce euphoria , a side effect that diminishes with use people have to be ashamed to take them . people are so quick to pass judgement like they can try other things ,there not really in pain.I have to ajust to life with chronic pain due to a slipped disk and pinched siatica which i attend physical therapy for.Sometimes the pain is so severe i cant get out of bed i miss out on my childrens lives unable to eat and sleep.I have been on vicodin and will be going to pain mananagement should i be ashamed to be prescribed stronger meds?Does the benifit of quality of life outweigh the risk of dependency?
How many of you would read a book about sexual and physical abuse from birth to 3years old, adoption, sex, drugs, running away, reconnection with birth parents, rehab, lying, etc? This would be how possible it is to overcome these things and live a positive working life. It would be my life story.
Shouldn’t we be focused on fixing their problem rather than punishing them for essentially the same thing that we are all guilty of – wanting to feel happy or trying to relieving pain, whether it is physical or emotional?
I went today to get evaluated to begin going there for my shoulder that has been in great pain since last winter & I just found it really funny! I realize it’s because people are in pain & can’t get around to good BUT it’s just funny!!
