I had a stress fracture in my foot about 6 months ago from over training, I was off my foot for about 3-4 months and was in a cast for two weeks, it has been almost 8 months since my injury and my foot feels fine but now that I began running again I have a somewhat different shaped ankle bone on the inside it looks swollen but its not simply different shaped now in comparison to the other and I really want to run competitively again ive also been experiencing a little bit of shin pain right by the inside of my ankle. I stretch and do ankle exercises such as writing the alphabet etc… does any one have any suggestions I was thinking physical therapy but I am desperate at this point, and Im 17 by the way and Ive been trying to do 50 min bike rides and 3 mile runs on and off to stay in shape

I have a birth defect that in my lower back that causes my last vertabrae to shift. I have been doing physical therapy for years but the problem is getting worse as I age. The doctor said I might have to have it fused. Has anyone out there had this done? Did it work? How miserable was it and how was the rehab?

I hurt my self in Nov at work, my Dr. was treating me for muscle spasms which was sever. sent me to physical therapy. The pain in my neck, back,and both shoulders was still there. Work comp. sent me to there drs. the shoulder and back dr. gave me injections in my shoulders. only helped in one. the pain in neck and shoulder and back is still there . she ordered mri on both my shoulders of course w.c. refused said I had to go for physical therapy again, i went to 6 weeks of it, the last two dizzy spells started and black outs. IN the mean time I was sent to a neck Dr. { I had a MRI done with my family on my neck and spine I have a bulge disk in my neck.] He send me to the
pain mangement for injection on my right side of the neck. In the mean time w.c.
refused the second mri. the injection did
not work. the dr. sending me to P.T. again.
and neuro. Before Lt. duty, now no work
w.c. aproved MRI less then 24 hrs.after inj.
dizzy and blackouts worse pain the same
it seems like no one belives me.
i have to be in tears and complain for days for my mom to take me to the dr.
i went last yr and they took xrays and said nothing was wrong it it was strange how nothing made my pain worse. that it just was there. and sent me to physical therapy. that worked some.
but i have been having pain ever since. and last week it hurt and i did something and now it hurts exactly the same as it did last yr. and i am in tears. and am taking advil and my muscle relaxers and constantly using heat or ice. i am starting to believe that no one. (parents or drs) believe that i am in so much pain. on a scale of 1 to 10 i would have to say that my pain is like a 7.5 ever since last wed. (normally it would be about a 3 though) what should i do if they dont believe me b/c they cant find anything wrong with my xrays?
i have also been to a chiropractor at least 2 times a month since last yr.
I am experiencing extreme shoulder and upper back pain from using my mouse. This has lasted 5 years. I get physical therapy, I feel better, but when I use a computer mouse I experience extreme muscle spasms and strains in my shoulder. What ergonomic device should I buy that would ease the strain on my shoulder, back and arm? I bought an adjustable armrest but that just causes the pectoral in my chest to be irritated.
HI I have cervical sprain in my neck and I have TMD(the disc is dis-located). I have been in Physical Therapy a few times to treat the muscles and pain I have had from these ailments. This has been going on for about 9 years and I have been able to keep it under control with mouth guards and occasional PT. But this time I feel that I need to try something new and hopefully get rid of the pain I have been feeling.
Does anyone have any advice on a specific doctor to see?

Cymbalta For Back Problems?

I have several back problems, bulging disk laying on a nerve. Arthritis, stenosis etc. I went to the pain management doctor today. His recommended treatment was spinal injections with physical rehab, but as both of these are so expensive and I have no insurance, he is going to write a letter for me to take to local hospital to see if they will help.
Meantime he put me on Cymbalta, how does this work with back pain? I’ve never heard of an anti-depressant for pain? He swore it would help with the pain and numbness, I guess we will see. Just wondering if anyone has any advise or experience with this drug.
Ok so about 2 months ago i was in PE playing volleyball. I went up hit a ball with my legs facing left with my upper body facing forward. I came down on someone and my lower back popped a few good times. For the first week i couldn’t straighten my back but it got better still with pain. I went to the doctors and was on muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory pills for 2 weeks. They helped a little until they ran out. Now i’ve been going to physical therapy for 2 weeks and they don’t know whats wrong with my back because i’m not improving. I’m not really sure what to do.
I worked in a (physical) rehab center for a while, and a LOT of the people we treated were military guys, and a lot of them had severe issues with joint degradation, knee problems, back problems, and even hip failures. It was pretty common that a 40-year-old guy would have knee joints whose MRI scans looked 20 years older.
Why is this? What is it about being in the military that causes premature wear on the joints of the lower body, and what can be done to prevent this?
I have often reoccuring back pain and all the Dr. wants to do is give me muscle relaxers which don’t do much at all.
