I’m 17 and I have had horrible back pain for the past 7 years. It continues to get worse every day. It feels like somebody is drilling on my spine with a jackhammer. I also feel and hear a popping noise in my lower back when I walk. I have had 3 MRI’s, 3 bone scans, been checked for RA, and no telling how many x-rays. I have scoliosis, mild spina bifida, and a missing lamina, but I’m told none of these are supposed to cause pain. I’ve seen over ten doctors. I have tried physical therapy and chiropractors for a few years and absolutely no relief. No medications have ever helped, they just put me to sleep for awhile. I’m no longer able to enjoy any of my activities or sports. I missed so much school with pain and doctor’s appointments that I had to withdraw and finish my senior year in homeschool. The doctors won’t take my pain seriously because of my age. Several of them have told me I’m faking and to “get over it”. I’m completely desperate. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had sciatica pain for almost 2 years now. Some days it is horrible and I can barely walk while other days I feel very little to now pain at all. The doctor has put me on Vicoden and Ultram which gets rid of the pain but I don’t want to be on pain meds for a long period of time. Things like physical therapy, messages, yoga and chiropractic care have been recommened to me but I am looking for more suggestions. My question is are sciatica problems uncureable? Is this something I will have forever no matter what? Anyone that has experienced this I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!
My sacroilliac joints are dysfunctional, my dr. put me on meds and physical therapy. Have any of you had this? How do you deal with back pain like this? Also, he prescribed a pain med (vicodin) and robaxin (muscle relaxer) both of which make me nauseous. Any suggestions on how to handle that or should I just call and ask him to prescribe something else?
About 4 months ago, I was moving into a new place and when I was backing up, my elbow slammed right into the door. I went to the DR and he did a x-ray and said there was no fracture or anything but it thinks I might have bruised the bone and it should feel better in 2 months, well its been 4 months and its not better and its still painful. He told me to take Tylenol. I do have appointment on Friday to see a orthopedic and I know he/she is going to send me to physical therapy and I really don’t have no patient with people who work at these physical therapy places. They really don’t show any compassion except for their paycheck on Fridays and I was wondering if anyone ever had their elbows bang to the point where the pain is unbelievable and what kind of home therapy did you do for yourself? Thank you!!
Magnetic field therapy diagnoses and treats both physical and emotional pain; it relieves symptoms and retards the cycle of new disease. Magnets and electromagnetic therapy devices are now being used to eliminate pain, facilitate healing of broken bones, and counter the effects of stress. Stress can cause our bodies to get out of sinc electricly and magneticly.
I had recent proof of this, I was really stressed out, divorce, law suits, etc..I have a magnetic globe in my office that floats between two magnetic points, I was unable to set the globe in the center position, tried a dozen times for weeks. My stress peaked out and I came down with 30 days of killer migraines. After that I was able to easily set the magnetic globe in its center position. I’ve read lately that they have discovered magnetic therapy for migrains.
My question is, Should we be magneticly adjusted every so often to get our negitive and positive ions aligned for better health and sense of well being?
I am going to school to be a PTA. Once I receive my associates, how long will I have to go to school for in addition to become a Physical Therapist?
I have been having severe pain in my left knee of late. I have had prior surgery on the same knee (Fulkerson Procedure) and last year my then Ortho guy said his M.R.I. was clear so he shot me up three different times with cortizone.
I have made sure to take very good care of the knee and done all the physical therapy stuff but the pain has retnrned with a vengance and this years NEW M.R.I. shows 1: At least mild Grade IV chondromalacic changes of the patella.
2: No meniscal tears and
3: Mild to moderate joint effusion with a very small Bakers cyst.
Do you feel what with the prior surgery and the fact that I am 47 years old male this new pain which is quite intense that I may have to undergo surgery once again?
I had pt again today on my shoulder. she used some kind of set up that taped to my shoulder and did a mini massage thru my shoulder, felt like little tini volts , didnt hurt.. but to try to stop the pain from going down my arms. tonight my shoulder is killing me . Hi, I am currently 21 wks pregnant and have had back pain since almost the beginning of my pregnancy. I was prescribed tylenol 3 for this, which I honestly tried not to take very often at first, but as of last week my back started hurting more so, I was taking it a bit more, but as prescribed. This week my hip has started popping and I am going to the dr. again tomorrow to be referred to a physical therapist. I was just wondering what I can expect from all of this? Did it really help you? How long before you got your first appointment?
Also, is there any other temporary pain relief they can offer me until I do start physical therapy so I don’t go out of my mind? The tylenol 3 is not working at all so, I am just not taking it and going insane. I mean, I can only take so many baths/showers a day. Thanks for all advice and answers in advanced!
