I am 25, male, and currently have bachelors degree in Marketing. I have always been interested in business but also physical therapy. I know, nice combination. Anyway, I am wondering what degree is required to become a physical therapist? Need grad school? What bachelors must I have? Also, what degree is needed for Assistant? Thanks

About 4 years ago I started to have severe shoulder pain so i went to my doctor and he recommended physical therapy. I went to that for about 6 months and i had this little sticky thing put on my shoulder and then it was hooked up to the machine and it shot waves through ( i forgot what it was called). After 6 months my insurance would not pay for it so i stopped (plus it was not helping). When i have my arms above my head in movement it hurts really bad. After alot of movement i’m sore until the next morning(i have a hard time sleeping). It is also very sore to touch. Now i’m starting to have severe shoulder spasms…..what can i do? It’s so close to Christmas and any time i move my arm back or up it spasms. Please i would appreciate any answer. Thank you.

I have been diagnosed by my family doctor as having two bulging disks. I have a lot of pain with them. I am going to a back sugeon tomorrow. I would really like to have some questions ready. I have already tried physical therapy twice and I currently take an anti inflamatory med and Darvocet as needed. Of course I will ask what are my non surgical options. I am only 26 years old and I have had this pain for years so surgery is not completely out of the question. I’ve heard there is not much they can do besides surgery and therapy.

Are there different types of therapists? By that I mean like people that study specifically for adults, kids, handicapped, etc.
How many years does it take to graduate?

Okay, I have Spina Bifida and I have had 30 surgeries on my back, leg, and hip. I am in constant pain all day long. I have tried many things to help the pain including physical therapy, large doses (800- 1600mgs) of ibuprofen, vicodin, neurontin, and currently ultram. I am seeing a new doctor tommorrow, and his approach according to what I have read is mainly preventative medicine. Does this mean that he will take me off my meds, help me to adjust my meds, or leave me on the dose Im at now and try injections and things? How do I talk to him so that he does not think that I am just another drug seeker?
My husband went AWOL about 3 weeks ago. He plans to turn himself in in a week so its under 30 days so its not considered desertion? He’s only been in the army since April so he hasnt been in 180 days and he hasnt finished basic. After being in basic training for about a month or so he cracked a bone in his foot and learned he had a blood clot in his back so hes been in Physical rehab a big percentage of the time. Hes done some research and it looks like if he goes back he will just get a general discharge because he hasnt been in 180 days but I was wondering if anyone can confirm what will really happen to him. The best, worst and most likely outcome. Any information is appreciated and if you want more information please IM me aj_55_zen and yes people, I know this is a bad situation and stupid on his part and mine for allowing it so I’m not looking to see any neg. comments about how horrible we are. I just need information. I need to know whats going to happen to our family.
