i’m 17 years old and have been suffereing from severe lower back pain for over a year. my doctor says its just a herniated/inflammed SI joint, but the pain is ridiculous! xray came back normal, MRI showed 3 slightly bulging disks (not the cause of my pain because those disks dont touch any nerves)
i’m on 3 different meds, i’ve tried physical therapy, a chiropractor, prednisone steroid pack, cold laser treatments, EVERYTHING!
my last option is a cortisone injection into my SI joint, should i even bother?
anyone know from experience how well they work?
do i have any other options?

I was injured in a car accident October of 2006. I have had many many backproblems arrise from no where. I never had a history of any back problems before. Now, i have gotten masassaged, x-rayed. I have had 4 spinal steroidal injections in my spine (not pleaseant) spinal decompression therapy, as well as 3 other physical therapy rehab courses. None of these have worked. My back pain hurts 24/7. stops for no one, but the degree of pain will randomly fluxuate depending on the situation. I am completely out of what to do now. I guess i should tell you WHATS wrong with me. I have 7 bulging discs in lumbar, 3 of those bulging discs are degenerated. and all of that together combined with Spondylosis, makes for one painful spine. I have tried everything. All the excercises and the medications, and other special treatment plans. Nothing works. I’m looking for someone who has found something that has worked.
Ive been dealing w/ whiplash pain for 4 mnths. I’ve been on multiple migraine meds, abortive & preventative. Ive already had 1 series of occipital nerve blocks from the neurologist, who also said I have muscle spasms as a result of accident
Ive seen a chiropractor since February. X-rays show loss of my cervical curve. I recently had an MRI which oddly came out normal, yet I am still in lots of pain. I still get the migraines, & my neck is killing me on a daily basis.
I also go to physical therapy. They have tried many different types of therapy, light therapy, massage therapy, and others to no avail. My headaches have gone down in severity, but I still have them, along with the neck pain daily. They have about given up on me. We are now working on strengthening my neck muscles.
This week I get a cortisone shot to the back of my neck, & the Dr thinks it will help, but if not, next step is a nerve block in the spine. Anyone have experience with this treatment? I am quite nervous
I’ve have had a herniated disc for a little over three months that is accompanied with severe right leg pain. I’ve been to physical therapy, had steroid injections, took medications, heat, ice, etc. Nothing has helped the pain and I can’t go to a chiropractor.
Over the weekend, I re-injured my back vacuuming. I couldn’t move at all for hours and have spent the rest of the weekend in bed / in severe pain. I going to make an appointment tomorrow but they don’t really help me. I need relief and no one seems to take me seriously because I’m only 18, and all of this is really making me feel depressed. I can barely move without pain, am no longer able to exercise comfortably, etc.
Do you have any advice as to what I can do next, if anything? I Need Relief, I can’t go on like this! Thank you.

Can’t seem to find solution to lower back pain.
Diagnoses: (1) mild stenosis, spondyleosis – L4 level, minimal annular bulging – MRI shows mild problem (2) neurologist – not neurlogical (2) back specialist – not significant problem (3) current diagnosis: pelvic misallingment :prescribed excercises, losing weight, stress reduction, wear lift in left shoe as left leg 1/2 inch shorter
Failed remedies: (1) numerous incl. pain-killers (2400 mg ibuprofen/advil, oral steroids, muscle relaxants, viox, prioxicam, (2) conventional physical therapy, including electro-stim, hot and cold packs (3) currently, pelvic misallingment therapy has worsened problem, constant pain regardless of sitting.
Description of pain: originally only when long driving, later sciatica more recently lower back when sitting now sharp in lower back/butt all times.
Q: Suggestions? own experience? Continue leg inserts/current therapy? Acupuncture? Injections? Spinal decompression? Deep tissue massage? Other?
I have a herniated disc. I have been having this problem for about a year now. Ive Tried everything, ESI’s, Rhizotemy, Physical therapy, and have been on plenty of meds. Problem is that i sit all day at work but this makes my pain so much worse. I cant take my meds either because they cause drowsiness. Sometimes its so unbearable, i just sit at my desk and cry. I dont know what to do, I cant ever get comfortable. Please any suggestions on what i can do I feel so miserable.I also have a pain management doc. And got my tens unit when i was in physical therapy. The pain patches i have but dont use very often, i dont think they work very well. And i have had every injection i could get… i answer phones so i really cant Get up and walk around. There not that understanding around here. I can only really leave for lunch and come back….
I have a history of back spasms, followed by muscle pain that gets pretty intense. I am in physical therapy, but the pain is unreal. My doctor won’t prescribe me pain medications – and I’m wary of the addictive nature of them, especially for such a long term issue as my back problems. I’d like a natrual route, an herbal mixture I can combine with stretching, excersise, and muscle strengthening.
Herniated L4-L5 disc with sciatic pain down left leg and foot, moderate to severe at times. Have tried 2 shots and oral meds, no real pain relief, physical therapy with traction provides temporary relief. What options are left and how to avoid surgery? Am a busy self employed contractor and am unable to take the time off work for surgery. Not to mention fear of the surgery and complications. Any advice will help at this point…Thanks
