I was diagnosed with flat feet (and I think short tendons in my leg) when I was 9 (I’m 17 now). The treatment was custom orthotic insoles that I’ve worn ever since and physical therapy. The only problem is, I really dislike the guy that I have to see to get new insoles because he disregards any questions I have or anything I say and has never explained why I have insoles, or what the problem is, so I wait until my insoles are useless and worn out to get new ones.
Now I’ve stopped wearing them because my old ones wore out, and all the pain has come back even worse then before. Every morning my feet cramp up, I can’t walk for more then 15/20 minutes without pain, my knees have shooting pains when I walk and if when I get up from sitting down my ankles really hurt and are stiff. Is there any way I can get rid of this pain without going to see the orthopedic doctor?

Shoulder Pain Relieve?
Feb 2
My mom has this shoulder pain goes all the way down to her fingers. Her doctor told her to go to physical therapy, but how can she go to pt without knowing what causes the pain? She had an xray done, but it did not show any signs. Will a MRI help? What exercise/method she should do to relieve some pain? Thx in advance
I’ve had nerve pain for 4 years. I am trying to quit the narcotics I think they are causing me other problems, I want to quit badly -= but my pain totally gets out of control if I do.

How To Relieve Knee Pain?
Jan 18
Back in 05 i had a minor acl tear in my left knee. The doctor said he didn’t have to perform surgery as long as i can rehabilitate it and get it strong again. Well and the hard head i have, as soon as i stopped feeling pain i stopped doing my physical therapy. Now in 09 im feeling a very uncomfortable feeling in my knee and sometimes when i walk i feel like something in there is rubbing on something (sort of like a grinding type feeling but not really) i did gain a little weight since then, maybe 5lbs. I don’t want surgery but i want it to get better. I was told i should exercise and have it drained every once in a while because there might be fluid build up…. what should i do?
How To Relieve Hip Pain?
Jan 7
I have to have hip replacement but not for 2 months. This has been very painful for over 2 years. I’ve had physical therapy and acupuncture, which both worked short term.
My HMO decided, at last, to do the surgery & I did get steroid injections last month which helped quite a lot. Now the pain is back & I can’t have another injection. Has anyone been in a similar situation, that can help with suggestions for medication to get me through 2 more months?
A co-worker’s wife has a pinched nerve in her back, that otc pain relievers aren’t helping and physical therapy isn’t working either. Any ideas? She doesn’t like taking heavy duty meds because of her job.

Two weeks ago, in jiu jitsu, I tore my ACL and MCL. I stayed completely off of it for a full week, applying ice, keeping it in a brace, and taking anti inflammatory meds so that the swelling could go down, which it finally has. On Monday, I started physical therapy, and since then, my leg has ached badly. I don’t know if it’s from the therapy or from my MCL trying to heal or both, but my leg aches a lot up and down the back side of my leg. The pain is especially bad when I’m upright on crutches or sitting upright in a chair. It’s only relieved when I sit down and rest my leg; even then, I’m still uncomfortable.
What can I do to help the aching pain? Is this normal?
