After having surgeries for 2 torn ligaments and muscle in the knee..had to start physical therapy. Its the third day and it feels like a muscle was torn again and hurts badly. Is this normal for it to be this painful or should I check it at the hospital tomorrow?

My doctor ordered me to receive physical therapy. I expected to go to the therapist’s and get personal attention. Instead, the office was full of patients receiving treatment. He gave me some exercises to do, then ran off to attend other clients and left me alone. How many patients do they schedule at a time? There was like 10 people there and one therapist. Not only that, there was no receptionist so he also had to answer the phone and do scheduling while trying to do PT. What if I had a problem and needed his attention?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and am interested in pursuing physical therapy. I know the obvious differences between being a physical therapist and a physical therapy assistant, but can anyone give life experience or scenarios etc. of which would be better to pursue and why. Also, how/where to go about pursuing one of those directions.
Been with my husband for 4 years.Gotten very physical and I’ve had a broken cheekbone when his foot met my face. Both of us in and out of jail, mainly me.( His buddies always have his back.) That was due to our heavy drinking through the years. We are now both sober, me 6mnths, him 5mnths and he’s currently in rehab. After all the other attempts to make this work, do you think being sober will make the difference???
My 13 year old son suffered a radial head fracture in his elbow about 3 months ago during a wrestling match. He has been going to physical therapy 2 times per week for the past 2 months. He has good bicep strength, but weak tricep strength. He still does not have full range of motion and still has some pain. I go to the doctor next week again at the request of his physical therapist. Could he have more damage than what is showing in his x-rays? The last x-ray showed his bone was almost healed. That was 6 weeks ago. I don’t know what to ask the dr. for. When I suggested an MRI previously he put the lack of strength as being due to the injury only being 5 weeks old.
I am considering both career choices. To be an occupational therapist you have to have a masters degree. What I need to know is if the pay is worth the extra school or are they similar wages? I want the most money and love school, so more school isn’t a problem to me, I just don’t want to be wasting time, I’m a single mom struggling to just go to school. Thanks for any help!
I know it has to a science bachleor but what is the best one for physical therapy.
I’m going to be a junior in college. I am majoring in pre-physical therapy right now, but I dont think i want to do it. What should I major in?
ive had this pain going on roughly 5years now and recently was able to see a doctor just 3 years ago.
i was diagnosed with sciatica, spinal stenosis, and 3 protruding disks in my lower spine. keep in mind i am only 23yrs old.
so far ive my doctor has told me to go to physical therapy, witch helped a little. i was only able to go for 3months before i was told there was nothing more that i could do except exercise at home .
well since then my pain has gotten progressively worse to the point that every time i get up from a chair or bed my left left gets those tingles (when your leg falls asleep). i can no longer walk long distances (i cant even walk up the street). i was given a steroidal shot in my but because the doctor claimed that it would relax my muscles and pull some of the tension off my nerve. but some how it made my pain even worse off then what it was. and to top things off my pills have given me Extream constipation.
as of now my docters have me on generic froms of : IBUProfen(anti inflammatory), Robaxin(muscle relaxer),ultram(pain killer),norco(pain killer), dok(stool softener), andalvial.(antidepressant?)
every day i try to get up and walk a little bit. and i also try to do the exercises my old physical therapist gave me but i can bearly do any of those. i lay down most of the day writhing in pain and only get to take any where from two to three 3hr naps. ive gotten my MRI witch shows the damage
and was given the following choices.
1.more Physical therapy
2.more injections.
3 omt (spinal manipulation)
4.Surgery
so my my question is. after most of the these things havent shown a positive result as of yet. should i go on with the surgery and get the relife i so badly want and need. or should i put it off try more physical therapy and hope that i dont suffer any long term nerve damage from not getting the surgery?
keep in mind im only 23.,,
Further details include.
.unemployed because back pain became too sever and need a source of income badly
. cant stay living with parents forever. im supposed to be the one takeing care of them now.
.im trying to weigh my options in hopes to make the right choice.
my medical plan is a Free Plan from the State of California (MIA) if that helps at all.
Please help me make a good choice.
I am thinking about majoring in Physical Therapy because of what I’ve seen in research, it seems like a career for me. Before I really have my mind set on this profession, I want experience. But I want to know if I should have any knowledge before hand? Will I be interviewed? What kind of questions should I expect to be asked? How would a PT like to be approached by someone seeking help regarding experience?
